HEALTH ADVISORY: Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD)
Uguis Integrated School reminds everyone to stay safe and protected against HFMD. This common but highly contagious illness can spread quickly in schools. Let’s work together to keep our learners healthy! 💙
✅ Wash hands regularly with soap and water
✅ Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
✅ Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces
✅ Avoid close contact with anyone showing symptoms

Handwashing is one of the most important things you can do to stay healthy, especially for students, who spend a lot of time in close contact with others. Germs can easily spread on surfaces and from person to person, but washing your hands regularly can help to prevent the spread of disease.
On Global Handwashing Day, Uguis Integrated School participated by teaching students the proper handwashing techniques. Students learned how to lather their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds, scrub all surfaces of their hands, and rinse thoroughly with water. They also learned when it is important to wash their hands, such as before eating, after using the toilet, and after blowing their nose.
Handwashing is a simple but effective way to stay healthy and prevent the spread of disease. By teaching students about the importance of handwashing and providing them with easy access to soap and water, Uguis Integrated School is helping to create a healthier school community.

Uguis Integrated School supports the Global Handwashing Day with the global team “CLEAN HANDS ARE WITHIN REACH”.
The learners from Grade 7-12 practice the proper hand washing led by Mr. Jimlord Domingo, Clinic Teacher.
This global advocacy is dedicated to increase awareness and understanding on the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective way to prevent diseases and save lives.

Anent to OUOPS No. 2023-03 Memorandum dated September 29, 2023 titled 2023 Global Handwashing Day, the Schools Division of Ilocos Norte will join this year's celebration of the Global Handwashing Day with the global theme, "CLEAN HANDS ARE WITHIN REACH".
This global advocacy is celebrated every 15th day of October and is dedicated to increase awareness and understanding on the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and saves lives.
In line with the celebration, a short program titled "Malinis na Kamay tulay sa Malusog na Kinabukasan" shall be broadcasted via the DepEd Philippines page on October 13, 2023 (Friday), 1:30 - 2:30 PM where all Division and School WINS coordinators will watch.
To further highlight the celebration in the Schools Division of ilocos Norte, ALL SCHOOLS SHALL CONDUCT SIMULTANEOUS HANDWASHING ACTIVITY BEFORE THE MORNIG RECESS ON OCTOBER 16, 2023.
