MARAWA NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL PISA 2025: A BLAST FROM THE PAST

Every great journey begins somewhere—and sometimes, it begins when we least expect it.

Looking back, being part of the PISA 2025 journey was something Marawa National High School never imagined.

Among the many schools in the Philippines, Marawa National High School was unexpectedly chosen to take part in this significant international assessment—one of only three participating schools in the Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija.

To be honest, we were not fully ready.

There were uncertainties. There were challenges. We had limited facilities and resources. There were learning gaps to address. And there was a long road ahead.

But sometimes, we do not have to be completely ready to begin.

We only need the courage to take the first step—and the determination to continue.

THE JOURNEY BEGINS

From the preparations and training to the countless hours of teaching and learning, every step became part of a journey that tested not only our readiness but also our commitment and belief in the potential of our learners.

At the heart of this journey were our 42 learners—our PISA takers—who courageously embraced the challenge. They participated in learning activities, practiced, learned, and persevered despite the demands and challenges of the journey.

They were the reason we continued to prepare.

They were the reason we continued to believe.

And they reminded us that every learner, when given the right opportunity, guidance, and support, has the potential to grow and succeed.

We prepared. We learned. We adjusted. And together, we moved forward.

We were also deeply honored by the monitoring and visitation of our DepEd officials, whose presence brought encouragement and inspiration to the entire Marawa National High School community:

✨ Usec. Malcolm Garma
✨ Usec. Atty. Mel John Versoza
✨ RD Ronnie Mallari

Their presence and words of encouragement reminded us that we were not alone in this journey.

A JOURNEY MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH COLLECTIVE SUPPORT

We could not have made it through this journey without the unwavering support of the Department of Education–Schools Division Office of Nueva Ecija.

Our deepest gratitude goes to our former Schools Division Superintendent, Sir Ronaldo A. Pozon, our supportive ASDS Ma'am Michelle A. Mejica, ASDS Sir Danilo M. Jacoba, our dedicated CID Chief, Ma'am Jayne M. Garcia, and our Education Program Supervisors, who continuously monitored, guided, and supported us throughout the journey.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to our SDO PISA Focal Person, Ma'am Rosemarie Z. Burayag, whose dedication went beyond ordinary supervision.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to our SDO PISA Testing Coordinator, Sir Florentino O. Ramos; Ma'am Checilia Bagsik; and from Division ICT Sir Eric Elegado, for their invaluable assistance, technical support, and dedication throughout the preparations and implementation of the PISA assessment.

A significant part of this journey was the Kamustahan with RO III EPS Sir Engel Agunday and from DepEd Central Office Sir Keneth Tolentino whose presence, guidance, and encouragement gave us an opportunity to share our experiences, challenges, and progress throughout our PISA journey.

We are also deeply grateful for the unwavering support and close monitoring of the Jaen North District, headed by PSDS Sir Michael Fronda, Jaen North School Heads and EPS-Area Monitoring Supervisor of Ma'am Cristina G. Noora. Their guidance, encouragement, and continuous support helped ensure that Marawa National High School remained focused and committed throughout every stage of the PISA journey.

Our journey was also strengthened by the support of our Local Government Unit of Jaen. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mayor Sylvia C. Austria, Vice Mayor Sylvester Austria and Brgy. Chairman Victoria T. Soberano for their support and encouragement to Marawa National High School and our learners. Your belief in education and in the potential of our young people became an important source of inspiration throughout this journey.

PREPARING OUR LEARNERS

To strengthen our learners' skills and provide them with meaningful learning opportunities, we maximized various learning and training platforms, including:

Khan Academy
FrontLearners
DepEd Learning Management System (DepEd LMS)

These platforms became part of our learners' preparation and training, providing opportunities to practice, explore, learn, and develop the competencies needed throughout the PISA journey.

We continuously worked on strengthening the teaching and learning process and ensuring the integration of PISA lessons in our classrooms. Along the way, our learners were guided, our teachers were supported, and our progress was continuously monitored.

OUR PISA LESSON INTEGRATION TEAM

Behind the integration of PISA concepts into our daily teaching and learning process was a dedicated team of teachers and school personnel who accepted the challenge and worked together to help prepare our learners.

LOOKING BACK

Behind every preparation was guidance.

Behind every challenge was support.

And behind every learner was a community that continued to believe.

Looking back now, we remember the uncertainties, the long preparations, the challenges, the pressure, and the countless efforts made behind the scenes.

What once seemed unexpected became a meaningful chapter in the history of Marawa National High School.

We may not have been fully ready when the journey began, but we learned, adapted, persevered, and moved forward.

And perhaps, that is the beauty of the journey.

We started with uncertainty.
We continued with courage.
We moved forward with the help of many.

Indeed, our journey was never ours alone.

Behind every challenge we faced were our 42 courageous learners, dedicated teachers, school personnel, DepEd officials, education partners, local government leaders, and stakeholders who guided us, monitored our progress, encouraged us, and believed in the potential of our learners.

Your guidance and unwavering support became an important part of the story behind this remarkable journey of Marawa National High School.

A BLAST FROM THE PAST.

A story of courage.
A journey of perseverance.
A testament to collective effort.

And a reminder that great things can begin from the most unexpected opportunities.

Marawa National High School—writing its story, one challenge, one learner, and one meaningful journey at a time.

PISA 2025 NATIONAL RESULTS LAUNCH

"EVERY GREAT JOURNEY BEGINS WITH A BLANK PAPER."

A blank paper—filled with possibilities, uncertainties, challenges, and dreams waiting to be written.

And sometimes, it takes time before the story unfolds.

For one and a half years, we waited—holding on to the memories of the journey, the challenges we faced, the lessons we learned, and the hopes we carried for our learners.

And today, the blank paper has become a story.

This meaningful celebration was made even more special by the presence of our Schools Division Superintendent, Sir Ericson S. Sabacan, EdD, CESO V; Jaen North District School Heads and OIC/PSDS, Sir Luisito Agapito, PhD; our courageous PISA takers, whose participation became an important part of this remarkable journey; and our dedicated teachers, who tirelessly prepared, taught, guided, and supported our learners.

We are also deeply grateful for the presence and unwavering support of our partners from the SPTA and Barangay Marawa, led by Kapitana Victoria T. Soberano and represented by Konsehala Lilibeth Laude.

Together, we celebrate the success reflected in the PISA 2025 Results—a story of hard work, patience, perseverance, sacrifices, and collective effort.

After one and a half years of waiting, we can finally look back and say:

The seeds we planted have begun to bear fruit.
There is improvement. There is progress. And there is hope.

From a blank paper to a story of progress—written by the hands and hearts of everyone who believed in our learners.

MARAMING SALAMAT, KAPITANA VICTORIA SOBERANO!
