Over the course of three meaningful days, the City College of Bayawan (CCB) successfully conducted its Basic First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training in partnership with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) and the CCB Health and Sanitation Services Unit at the Suba Gym, City of Bayawan, from August 25โ27, 2026.
The training brought together students, faculty, and staff who voluntarily took part in the program to strengthen their emergency response capabilities. Through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises, participants learned the essential principles of first aid, proper wound management, emergency response techniques, and the correct administration of CPR in life-threatening situations.
One of the highlights of the training was the realistic emergency simulations, where participants applied their newly acquired knowledge in responding to various emergency scenarios. These activities helped develop confidence, teamwork, and quick decision-makingโqualities that are vital during real-life emergencies.
This initiative reflects City College of Bayawan's commitment to fostering not only academic excellence but also a culture of safety, preparedness, and community responsibility. By equipping members of the college community with life-saving skills, CCB continues to empower individuals to become capable first responders who can make a difference when every second counts.
The City College of Bayawan extends its sincere appreciation to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), the CCB Health and Sanitation Services Unit, and all facilitators and participants whose dedication contributed to the success of this meaningful undertaking.
Together, we continue to build a safer, more resilient, and better-prepared CCB community.
