BREAKING NEWS | SPECIAL BIRTHDAY EDITION

Sir JD Catalogo, our beloved school publication adviser, is officially celebrating his birthday today🎉

According to reliable sources (aka his students), Sir JD continues to demonstrate exceptional skills in editing, advising, correcting grammar, and surviving the chaos of student journalists. Reports also confirm that his famous “small revisions” may sometimes turn into a full-scale editorial operation. 🫣

Witnesses say his patience remains remarkably strong, despite receiving drafts at questionable hours and hearing the timeless phrase: “Sir, sorry subong lang, okay nani?"

As the publication community celebrates this special occasion, we extend our warmest birthday wishes to the man who helps turn our random ideas into actual stories and our questionable drafts into something publishable. ✨

May your birthday be filled with good health, fewer revisions, peaceful deadlines, and students who actually do their articles on time.😂

Happy Birthday, Sir JD Catalogo! 🎂🎉
Thank you for guiding, inspiring, and patiently dealing with us. May this new chapter of your life be as well-written as the articles you help us create! We love you! 💞✨

— Your grateful (and kis-a tamaran) student journalists 🖋️📖

PNHSIANS WELCOMED THE 2ND TERM WITH COLOR SPLASH AND SMASH

Pontevedra National High School kicked off its second term in a burst of color as students gathered at the PNHS Quadrangle for Color War at 3:30 PM on September 18, 2026, after the two-week end-of-term block of the first term.

After their classes, students changed into their old T-shirts, carrying water guns, colored waters, and even buckets, turning the school grounds into a colorful battlefield.

Before the Color War, the students played tug-of-war, where the Grade 12 Legions emerged as the champions after defeating the Grade 7 Gems in the final round.

Rain also poured around the school grounds, making the event more fun and engaging for the students.

Afterwards, the Quadrangle turns into a disco as the students dance and sing along with the played songs.

Ending the chaos of colors and cheers, the students went home soaked in colors and showered by the rain.

For them, the Color War is not just an opening event; but rather an opportunity to bond with their friends and school mates before entering another academic endeavor.
