Bilang kabataan, gamitin ang inyong boses upang labanan ang korupsyon. Kaya't halina at makiisa sa pakikibaka hanggang matamo natin ang nararapat.

Panagutin ang mga tiwali, ang mga korap, at ang mga sangkot.

"Tell me who you voted for, and I'll tell you who you are."

Following the arrest of FPRRD last tuesday, justice is on its way to the victims of EJK—a symbol of hope for a better future for those who were wronged during his term on the presidential seat.

This serves as a constant reminder to different sectors of the community to vote for officials who truly represent their values and beliefs; and to further explore their perspectives, tune in to the premiere of our documentary tomorrow, March 16 at 7PM, featuring politics through the lens of a student, a teacher, a journalist, a spokesperson, an official, and a former person deprived of liberty.

News about officials neglecting their responsibilities has become increasingly prominent in this country. The taxes that people pay do not contribute to improving their lives; instead, they often line the pockets of the corrupt.

Remember, democracy is defined as rule by the people, which means it is everyone's responsibility to choose the right leaders for these positions.

Ngayong Mid-term elections 2025 kung saan karamihan sa mga kabataan ay pwede nang bumoto, let us keep in our mind that our decision should be based on who is the most beneficial for our nation's growth and stability of the country 🇵🇭 and not just those popular political candidates that has flashy campaigns and questionable backgrounds 👊.

LOOK | As part of the capstone project of grade 12 St. La Salle, Jeffrey Lotoc Burias, a teaching personnel at San Jose Academy and currently a Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) kagawad at Brgy. Daanghari, Navotas City, was invited to attend the Project Electorate seminar as one of the guest speakers last Friday, January 17, 2025.

When asked about his top three priorities in the elections, he emphasized being socially aware, educating ones self and others, and becoming responsible voters by actively participating in the political process. However, he only had a single piece of advice when it comes to choosing the best candidate to elect—to choose someone who has a full of love in serving others. “Lahat [ay] kayang maging magaling. Lahat [ay] kayang maging matalino. Pero hindi lahat [ay] kayang magkaroon ng puso sa serbisyo,” he claimed.

He also acknowledged how fortunate the selected student audiences are to become part of the project. According to Burias, “I do hope that this kind of platform will help you... Na mas lalo pa kayong maging attached, or to be politically aware.”

LOOK | Rinoa Kate Dela Cruz, a community journalist at Explained PH, attended the Project Electorate seminar last Friday, January 17, 2025. Dela Cruz led the seminar along with the three invited representatives. She asked several questions concerning the political process of the country.

The questions Dela Cruz asked during the Q&A session were aimed at the political convictions of the three guest speakers as members of the organizations they belong to. Subsequently, they were all able to give exceptional responses that the student audiences could learn a lot from.

Prior to the asking of questions, Dela Cruz pointed out how the primary hindrances of the country's development are disinformation, misinformation, and political dynasties. According to Dela Cruz, “Ang pag-asa ng kabataan ay kaalaman.” Hence, the amelioration of the education system is needed in order for the children to become critical thinkers as well as observant to the country's state.

Aside from asking challenging questions, she also left a word of advice for the students — “Kailangan nating alamin kung sino 'yong leader na may pake, sino 'yong leader na may gawa, at sino 'yong leader na kayang tumindig kasama ng mga kabataan at mga kasama nating nasa minority.”

LOOK | As part of the capstone project, Grade 12 St. La Salle students held a Press Conference for all Grade 11 HUMSS Strand students last friday, January 17, 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness on pressing national issues.

The students invited Mhing Gomez, a student from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines and the National Spokesperson of the Anakbayan Organization. Gomez shared valuable insights on the Philippine electoral process, emphasizing the significance of voting and its impact on citizens. The discussion provided students with a deeper understanding of their role in shaping the country's future.

Gomez emphasized the relevance of collective action, the phrase "Ano ang kalagayan ng ating bayan?" resonated throughout the conference, citing Jose Rizal's quote, "Kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan, pero kung ikaw lang ang mag-isa ay hindi mo ito makakayanan"
