Official Statement of Batch 2001
Host, Homecoming Celebration 2026
Batch 2001 takes note of the feedback following the Homecoming Celebration 2026. While we respect the right of individuals to express their views, we emphasize that constructive feedback is most valuable when it is informed by context and contributes meaningfully to understanding and improvement.
It is important to recognize that events of this scale are organized through volunteer effort, requiring careful coordination of resources, logistics, and finances. Assessments that do not fully consider these factors may not accurately reflect the work involved.
As this was our sole opportunity to host, post-event evaluations no longer influence outcomes for our batch. Moving forward, we hope that any insights shared will serve as constructive guidance for future hosts rather than as retrospective judgment.
Batch 2001 operated within a limited, self-funded budget and undertook extensive efforts to raise the necessary resources. The engagement of external support was a deliberate decision to ensure effective management of technical and logistical requirements. Financial contributions were voluntary, and the prizes and provisions extended during the event reflect what was realistically achievable within these parameters.
We also note with concern that certain discussions have extended beyond event-related feedback into personal commentary. This is regrettable. We extend our apologies to those whose names were unnecessarily involved and reiterate that respectful discourse remains essential within our community.
This statement constitutes the official and final position of Batch 2001 on this matter. Any statements made outside of this are personal in nature and do not represent the batch collectively.
Batch 2001 fulfilled its hosting responsibilities to the best of its capacity. We trust that future homecomings will continue to prioritize unity, respect, and shared purpose: values that remain central to our identity as Michaelinians.
