𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐒𝐓𝐀. 𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐀 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟗𝟎𝟎𝟏: 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭

In its continuing pursuit of quality, excellence, and adherence to established standards, the Pangasinan State University–Sta. Maria Campus successfully underwent the 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦: 𝐈𝐒𝐎 𝟗𝟎𝟎𝟏:𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟓 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 (𝐐𝐌𝐒) 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔.

The day-long assessment brought together the campus process owners and the audit proceedings were facilitated virtually through Zoom with the TÜV Rheinland audit team. The activity provided an avenue for the campus to demonstrate its continued commitment to maintaining effective processes, ensuring compliance with established quality standards, and strengthening its quality management practices.

The audit was conducted by TÜV Rheinland auditors 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐬. 𝐆𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐉𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐚, who assessed the campus processes and their conformity with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.

The successful conduct of the audit was made possible through the leadership and guidance of 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐢, whose direction and support helped ensure the active participation and preparedness of the campus process owners throughout the assessment.

Equally instrumental to the success of the activity was the dedicated effort of 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐕. 𝐃𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐳𝐦𝐚𝐧, whose coordination and preparation helped facilitate the smooth implementation of the audit. Her efforts, together with the cooperation of the campus process owners and personnel, contributed significantly to the successful completion of the day-long assessment.

The Extension Audit serves not only as a mechanism for evaluating conformity but also as an opportunity for the campus to identify areas for continual improvement and further strengthen its systems and processes. Through this undertaking, PSU–Sta. Maria Campus reaffirms its commitment to delivering quality services and upholding the standards of excellence expected of a premier state university.

With the successful completion of the audit, PSU–Sta. Maria Campus continues to move forward in its commitment to quality, accountability, continual improvement, and excellence in public service.

Pangasinan State University–Sta. Maria Campus is set to go nearly a week without regular face-to-face classes as Pangasinan joins the areas covered by the government’s alternative learning arrangements amid continued heavy rainfall on Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Under Memorandum Circular No. 131 issued by Malacañang, Pangasinan is among the provinces directed to implement alternative learning modes on August 20 due to risks associated with the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, PSU faculty members and non-teaching personnel will observe Work-From-Home every Friday under Memorandum Order No. 155-A, Series of 2026, effective August 10.

With the two separate directives, regular on-campus activities at PSU–Sta. Maria remain limited as the university prioritizes learning continuity and the safety of its students and personnel.

In accordance with 𝐏𝐒𝐔 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐦 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨. 𝟏𝟔𝟓, 𝐬. 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, all University officials, faculty members, and administrative personnel are advised to observe a Work-from-Home (WFH) arrangement on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.

For classes in areas where suspension has been declared, no face-to-face classes shall be conducted. Faculty members may adopt 𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐧𝐜𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, as appropriate.

Everyone is reminded to remain accessible during official working hours and to prioritize safety, continuity of essential services, and the welfare of the PSU-SM community.

𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗘𝗪𝗦 | 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻, 𝘀𝗮𝗸𝗹𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗙𝗛, 𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗸𝗮𝘀, 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝟭𝟴

Ipatutupad sa Pangasinan ang alternatibong work arrangements sa mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan at alternative learning modes sa mga paaralan, bukas, Agosto 18, 2026, bunsod ng patuloy na malakas na pag-ulan na kaugnay ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat.

Batay sa Memorandum Circular No. 128 na inilabas ng Office of the President ngayong Lunes, Agosto 17, kabilang ang Pangasinan sa mga lugar na saklaw ng direktiba para sa pagpapatupad ng naaangkop na alternatibong work at learning arrangements sa mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan sa Agosto 18, maliban kung may ibang direktiba ang kani-kanilang Local Chief Executives.

Kasama sa direktibang inilabas ng Malacañang ang National Capital Region, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Benguet, Zambales, Bataan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, at Occidental Mindoro.

Ang direktiba ay ipinatupad kasunod ng mga Heavy Rainfall Warning na inilabas ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) kaugnay ng tuloy-tuloy na malakas na pag-ulan na dala ng Habagat.

Para sa mga mag-aaral at g**o sa Pangasinan, nangangahulugan ito ng paggamit ng alternatibong paraan ng pagkatuto sa halip na regular na face-to-face classes sa Agosto 18, alinsunod sa mga panuntunan ng kanilang paaralan at lokal na pamahalaan.

Kaagad na naging epektibo ang Memorandum Circular No. 128 matapos itong mailabas noong Agosto 17.

Pangasinan State University President 𝐃𝐫. 𝐄𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐌. 𝐆𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬 ranked 3rd among the Top 10 SUC Presidents in the Philippines who are Scopus Producers and Researchers, based on the latest ranking by UGH University Excellence as of August 13, 2026.

The list recognizes SUC leaders for their scholarly output recorded in Scopus, one of the world’s largest databases for peer-reviewed research. Inclusion in Scopus means a publication meets international standards and is tracked by universities and researchers worldwide.

This recognition speaks of Dr. Galas’ active contribution to knowledge creation alongside his leadership at PSU. This highlights how research-driven governance helps advance the university’s academic reputation, strengthen programs, and support solutions that address community needs.

LOOKING FOR A WAY TO EARN WHILE YOU STUDY?

Good news, PSUnians!

The Office of the Students and Alumni Affairs of PSU Sta. Maria Campus is now accepting applications for Student Assistants for the 1st Semester, A.Y. 2026–2027.

Requirements:
1. Letter of Intent
2. Duly accomplished Student Assistant Application Form (available at OSAA)
3. Certificate of Registration for 1st Semester, A.Y. 2026–2027

If you are interested, prepare your requirements and submit them on or before August 20 to the Office of the Students and Alumni Affairs.

A few things to remember:
• Student Assistants work for a maximum of 4 hours per day so they can still focus on their studies.
• Irregular students are also encouraged to apply, especially those with lighter academic loads, as they may have more time available for the required duties.
• Before starting, selected Student Assistants will attend an orientation about their duties, schedule, and workplace rules.
• Students can only start their duties once their requirements and approvals are complete.

Nagbigay ng mensahe ng pagsalubong ni 𝐃𝐫. 𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐚𝐬𝐢, 𝐄𝐡𝐞𝐤𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬, na nagbigay ng paunang mensahe at pagbati sa mga bagong miyembro ng komunidad ng PSU–Sta. Maria.

Bahagi rin ng programa ang pagpapakilala sa mga opisyal ng kampus, na pinangunahan ni 𝐌𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐀𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞, Tagapag-ugnay sa Yamang-Tao. Sa pamamagitan nito, nagkaroon ng pagkakataon ang mga bagong estudyante na makilala ang mga pangunahing opisyal at kawani na nagsisilbing katuwang sa kanilang akademiko at personal na pangangailangan.

Mahalagang bahagi ng oryentasyon ang talakayan tungkol sa Mga Patakaran at Regulasyong Akademiko ng Unibersidad, na tinalakay nina 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐓. 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐳, Tagapagtala ng Kampus; 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐧 𝐋. 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨, Dekano ng Kolehiyo ng Edukasyong Pangg**o; at 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐨 𝐑. 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚, Dekano ng Kolehiyo ng Agrikultura. Binigyang-diin dito ang mga alituntunin at pamantayang dapat malaman at sundin ng mga estudyante upang maging maayos ang kanilang pag-aaral sa loob ng unibersidad.

Samantala, tinalakay ni 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐨 𝐌. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨, Pansamantalang Tagapamahala ng Tanggapan ng Ugnayang Pangmag-aaral at Alumni, ang iba't ibang Serbisyong Suporta para sa mga Estudyante. Binigyang-pansin din ni 𝐌𝐫. 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐢 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐑𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐧, G**o sa BEED, ang mga Serbisyo sa Gabay at Pagpapayo, na naglalayong matulungan ang mga estudyante sa kanilang akademiko, personal, at pakikisalamuha sa komunidad ng unibersidad.

Ipinakilala rin sa mga bagong PSUnian ang iba pang mahahalagang serbisyo ng kampus. Kabilang dito ang Mga Serbisyo ng Aklatan, na tinalakay ni 𝐌𝐬. 𝐉𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐁. 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠, Tagapamahala ng Aklatan ng Kampus; Mga Serbisyong Pangkalusugan, sa pangunguna ni 𝐌𝐬. 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐬𝐚𝐢𝐝𝐚 𝐍. 𝐎𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐫, Nars ng Kampus; at Midya at Publikasyong Pang-estudyante, na kinatawan nina 𝐃𝐫. 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨 𝐕. 𝐋𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐚 𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐚𝐞𝐥 𝐆. 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐳, mga Tagapayo ng Publikasyong Pang-estudyante.

Hindi rin nakaligtaan ang mga programang naglalayong paunlarin ang talento at kakayahan ng mga estudyante. Tinalakay rin ni 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐨 𝐁. 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐨 ang mga Programa sa Kultura at Sining, ang mga oportunidad sa larangan ng sining at kultura, habang ipinakilala naman ni 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂. 𝐂𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐨, Tagapag-ugnay sa Programa sa Pagpapaunlad ng Palakasan, ang mga gawaing pampalakasan na maaaring salihan ng mga PSUnian.

Nagtapos ang programa sa isang Bukas na Talakayan, kung saan nabigyan ng pagkakataon ang mga bagong estudyante na magtanong, maglahad ng kanilang mga saloobin, at linawin ang mga usaping may kaugnayan sa kanilang buhay-akademiko. Sinundan ito ng pangwakas na mensahe ni 𝐌𝐫. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐫𝐞, Administratibong Opisyal V.

Sa kabuuan, nagsilbing mahalagang unang hakbang ang Pangkalahatang Oryentasyon upang maging mas handa at may sapat na kaalaman ang mga bagong PSUnian sa kanilang pagpasok sa PSU–Sta. Maria. Higit pa sa pagpapakilala ng mga patakaran at serbisyo, ipinakita ng programa na ang unibersidad ay may iba't ibang tanggapan at programang nakahandang umagapay sa bawat estudyante.

Sa pagsisimula ng panibagong yugto, baon ng mga bagong PSUnian ang kaalaman, gabay, at inspirasyong kanilang natanggap, isang matatag na pundasyon para sa isang makabuluhan, masaya, at matagumpay na paglalakbay sa PSU–Sta. Maria.
