As the School Year 2026-2027 began, the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) has initiated a series of orientation sessions for different members of the ADNU community to align both students and staff with campus standards. The sessions aimed to orient and empower the community on existing and new university policies, as well as institutional guidelines designed to enhance student support, services, and safety.
The orientation series started with the semestral briefing of the University security personnel held last June 11, 2026, which focused on student safety and security-related concerns. During the session, OSA Director Janice Tresvalles detailed the Code of Discipline as well as implementing guidelines of the Revised College Dress Code. The revised policy was given particular focus following the recent abolishment of the College Uniform Policy, which was officially approved by Fr. Aristotle C. Dy, S.J. last April 29, 2026 through University Memorandum 2025-2026-082. Program Officer for Student Activities and Student Organizations Maria Josephine Reyes then discussed the code of conduct governing official student activities both on and off campus.
Following this, OSA convened student organization leaders for the school yearโs first Student Organizationsโ Orientation Meeting (SOOM) last June 16, 2026. During the assembly, Tresvalles briefed student organizations representatives, especially those regularly conducting student activities on campus, on the Revised College Dress Code. Reyes also consulted the student organizations on their willingness to explore a co-working space setup for the available org offices at the second floor of Xavier Hall. Further, the new Executive Director of the Office of Social Concern and Responsibility (OSCAR) Rodolfo SB. Virtus Jr. presented the role of OSCAR relative to the student organizationsโ activities, which is to provide support and financial assistance to student-led projects, programs, and initiatives that contribute significantly and consistently to social responsibility and directly combats present social injustices in the community and the country.
On June 26, 2026, OSA met with the College Athletics Office staff, varsity and sports groupsโ coaches, and student representatives at the HRMO training room to discuss the administrative processes that teams must go through in order to ensure the safety of students during training, leagues, and competitions. Jubelia Marie Sergio, Coordinator for Student Support Services and Linkages, explained the coverage and claims process for the Student Accident Insurance. Reyes then outlined the Student Activity Application process and requirements, reminding teams of the house rules, accompanying staff duties, and the necessary documents and permits to be completed and submitted to OSA before the student-athletes could officially participate in activities as representatives of the university.
On July 25, 2026, the Orientation Seminar 2026 for Freshmen and their parents was organized by the College Guidance Center (CGC), where various offices shared their mandates and services, including the OSA. As part of the Formation and Student Support Offices (FSSO), the OSA highlighted its commitment to the integral formation of students through student services and welfare programs, the administration of university policies, rules, and regulations on student discipline and conduct of activities, and interventions for student development and leadership formation. Reyes represented the OSA Director and gave an overview of the support services provided by the office to students, such as, but not limited to, the Accreditation of Boarding Houses and Dormitories (ABHD), the Dugong Atenista Blood Donation and Referral Program, and Student Accident Insurance. Relevant school policies were also discussed during this orientation, such as the Code of Discipline, the Policy on Intellectual or Academic Dishonesty, the Revised College Dress Code, the Anti-Violence Policy, and the Higher Education Drug-Free Campus Program Policy and Implementing Guidelines.
The orientation series concluded with sessions for upperclassmen. Students were oriented on the Revised College Dress Code on August 7, 2026, followed by a two-batch orientation covering both the dress code and the digitized Beadle System on August 10 and 11, 2026.
Through these series of orientations and regular assemblies, OSA reinforces its commitment to keeping both the students and staff informed of administrative policies while empowering them to uphold their rights and responsibilities as members of the University. โ
