In this fifth and concluding installment, we turn our attention to one of the most essential dimensions of academic and scholarly work: ethical writing, plagiarism awareness, and proper citation practices. As research and knowledge production continue to evolve in the digital age, the responsibility to uphold academic integrity becomes ever more crucial for students, educators, researchers, and professionals alike.

To guide us in this important discussion, we are honored to have Dr. Margarita Felipe Fajardo as our speaker. Through her expertise and insights, this episode aims to deepen our understanding of responsible authorship, intellectual honesty, and the ethical use of sources in academic writing and research.

We invite you to join us in this meaningful conversation on writing ethically and sustaining integrity in academic and professional practice.

In this fifth and concluding installment, we turn our attention to one of the most essential dimensions of academic and scholarly work: ethical writing, plag...

Ateneo de Naga University (ADNU) completed its four-day benchmarking activity at the University of the Philippines-Los Banos Campus (UPLB) from April 20-23, 2026. The ADNU delegation was represented by Mr. Vincent Eduard A. Sta. Clara (SHS Research Coordinator), Ms. Amanda De Los Santos (URC-Natural Sciences), and Mr. Rodolfo Buena Jr (SHS-STEM Faculty), with the endeavor to learn about the research-related programs, activities, structure, and dynamics, and explore the potential engagements, collaborations, and partnerships of the universities involving higher education and senior high school levels. In coordination with the Office of Institutional Development for Higher Education (OIDHE), the benchmarking delegation was welcomed by various offices, departments, institutes, and laboratories from the Museum of Natural History, Institute of Plant Breeding, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Development Communication (CDC), National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (BIOTECH), College of Engineering and Agro-Industrial Technology (CEAT), University Student Council, College of Human Ecology (CHE), College of Economics and Management (CEM), and the UPLB Graduate School. The insightful conversations between the ADNU delegates and the UPLB administrators, faculty, and personnel highlighted how UPLB's success, especially its research culture, is rooted in the system's tripartite function: Instruction-Research-Community Extension. Moving forward, ADNU proceeds to formalize these aspirations through the establishment of a Memorandum of Understanding. Stemming from the institutions' environment-anchored strengths and nichesโ€”ADNU's Laudato Si initiatives and UPLB being a premier university for agricultural, ecological, and scientific pursuitsโ€”the benchmarking activity marks the first step towards a joint commitment with a shared mission to serve the Filipino people. Dios Mabalos, UPLB!

We are pleased to announce the release of Volume 11, Issue 1 of Gibon Ateneo de Naga University Journal.

The issue features two peer-reviewed articles that respectively engage critically with education and women's economic engagement, and five research articles by the first recipients of the Bikol Studies Writing Grant, showcasing original multidisciplinary works in the Bikol region.
