I know that people mean well, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had my dogs pulled over and people let their dogs approach. Please don’t do that! If I see people pulled off with their dogs I keep my dogs engaged with me and I keep moving! These narrow trails can be difficult so please let’s set everybody’s dogs up for better success.

The way that the Internet wants to demonize harnesses is honestly so baffling! A well fitted harness is the most comfortable way for a dog to be on leash, so you heard it here! Harnesses don’t cause pulling, they’re actually just a really safe option to take pressure off of your dog’s neck.

My dogs have no problem being at camp and not barking at things except for when people and dogs walk directly by our camp. Which honestly is normal, but because I am a dog trainer and I would prefer my dog’s not bark at people and dogs walking by you can see how just a couple well times yeses and a few treats prevent my dogs from barking. Once the people are past they don’t need me anymore. They’re happy to chill.

We spotted some mountain goats on the ridge and stopped to point them out to some other hikers. Love that my dogs have these skills and can preform them so readily!
