The 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 (𝐑𝐃𝐏𝐂) invites all faculty and staff of Assumption College of Nabunturan, Inc. to undertake research studies that contribute to the improvement of their respective departments, enhancement of professional practice, and development of the ACN community as a whole.

Research is more than an academic requirement; it is a means of discovering solutions, informing decisions, and creating meaningful impact. Through this initiative, the ACN faculty and staff are encouraged to develop research proposals and conduct studies aligned with the Institutional Research Agenda and their respective fields of expertise.

In line with this, the RDPC encourages all faculty and staff to take an active role in advancing a culture of research at ACN by transforming relevant questions and challenges into meaningful studies that generate evidence, support informed decision-making, and contribute to institutional growth.

𝘼𝙙 𝙅𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙢 𝘾𝙪𝙢 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖!

The Philippines stands at a demographic crossroads. On one hand, the country is witnessing a steady decline in registered live births and fertility rates, reaching a historic low of 1.7 children per woman in 2025. On the other, teenage pregnancy remains a persistent social concern, with around 500 girls aged 15–19 giving birth every day, placing the Philippines among the countries with the highest rates of adolescent pregnancy in Southeast Asia. These figures tell a compelling story—one where fewer Filipinos are choosing or able to have children, while far too many young women continue to enter parenthood long before adulthood.

Behind these numbers are questions that deserve thoughtful conversations. What shapes the decisions of today's youth? How aware are young people of the realities surrounding teenage pregnancy and the country's declining birth rate? Seeking to understand these perspectives, the Research Development and Publication Center (RDPC) of Assumption College of Nabunturan conducted PULSO ng Assumptionista, gathering insights from 170 Assumptionistas across the senior high school and college departments.

The findings presented in this infographic capture not only the voices of the assumptionists but also the intersection between national realities and local perspectives. By understanding what our students know, believe, and perceive, we move one step closer to promoting informed discussions, evidence-based decision-making, and meaningful action. As the numbers continue to shape the nation's future, may these findings encourage us to look beyond the statistics and into the stories, challenges, and opportunities they represent.
