Congratulations to Mr. Ivan Jee I. Using bibliometric and thematic analyses of 1,473 Scopus-indexed publications, the study explored publication trends, collaboration patterns, major research themes, influential sources, and emerging directions in the field.
The findings reveal a growing and interdisciplinary body of scholarship linking martial arts and combat sports with physical education, pedagogy, youth and student development, sport science, health, psychology, safety, cultural studies, and technology-supported learning. The study also highlights the importance of effective teaching, appropriate training methods, learner development, safety, and responsible use of emerging technologies in maximizing the educational value of martial arts and combat sports.
By mapping the fieldโs intellectual and conceptual development, the study provides a valuable foundation for future research and contributes to a broader understanding of martial arts and combat sports as educational, developmental, and culturally significant practices.
