MNHS' Golden Eagles faces tough opponents, 51-36

Motiong National Highschool's Golden Eagles representing the Unit IV faced a tough defeat against opponents in a heart-wrenching finish, 51-36 at the Inter-Unit Basketball Tournament Final match.

Star player, Shena Llamado made her presence felt with her scoring ability, court vision, and defensive prowess. As a team, they fought hard, showcasing their teamwork and resilience, but were unable to secure the victory in the end.

“Acceptance is the key, losing the game is not the end of the world,” said the Samar Division Sports Coordinator, Sir Baldwin Babon.

Thanks to their dedicated coaches, Mr. Manuel Verzosa and Mrs. Ellen Verzosa for bringing the team to the height of success.

The game was a true display of skill, determination, and sportsmanship, as both teams left everything on the court in pursuit of the championship title.

Golden Eagles of Unit IV Advances to Finals in Thrilling Tournament Run

In a display of skill, determination, and teamwork, the Unit IV basketball girls team has made it to the finals of the highly competitive basketball tournament. In every match, they have demonstrated their skills and enthusiasm for the game, winning the admiration of supporters and fans along the way.

They faced tough opponents, but they never wavered in their commitment to giving their all on the court. Led by their dedicated coaches Mr. Manuel Verzosa and Mrs. Ellen Verzosa, the team worked tirelessly in practice and games to hone their skills and develop a winning strategy.

Their camaraderie and unity have been key factors in their success, creating a strong bond that has propelled them to the finals.

MNHS aims for healthy, immunized students

Motiong National Highschool launched the program School-Based Immunization (SBI) Program as a significant step towards safeguarding children's health against preventable diseases, including measles, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria, targeting schoolchildren from kindergarten to senior high school at MNHS Cultural Center held on October 21, 2024.

MNHS' Girls Volleyball Team breaks streak with loss over other teams

The MNHS' girls volleyball team faced a challenging game competing against indomitable opponents enabling them to secure their wins at the Inter-District Volleyball Tournament held at the Covered Court behind the Municipal Building of Paranas on October 19, 2024.

For the morning session, Motiong faced off against Buwan. the first set was an uphill battle, resulting in the team losing 11-20. Despite the dedication to win, the game ended similarly, with a final score of 17-20 sealing a 0-2 defeat.

Motiong faced another challenge against Hinabangan on the afternoon session. Motiong found their rhythm and bagged the first set with 21-19. However, Motiong drastically lost their momentum in the following sets. They lost for the second set 12-19 and dramatically fell on the third set 11-15, locking a 1-2 loss.

Despite the disappointing results, the MNHS Girls demonstrated a commendable effort and teamwork throughout the tournament. The team remains focused on improving and is eager to return to the court stronger than ever.

MNHS Lemurs drubs Jiabong's Girls Basketball Team, 58-23

The Lemurs of the Motiong District bagged gold medals as they managed to secure triumph after a hard-fought game against the three other teams during the Inter-District Basketball Tournament held on October 19, 2024 at Pequit Paranas Samar.

The tournament featured a total of 4 teams, Motiong, Jiabong, Hinabangan I and Wright I, each vying glory for the court. The atmosphere was electric, with fans filling the stands and cheering passionately for their teams, creating a vibrant backdrop for the event.

The finals featured a thrilling showdown between the district of Motiong and Jiabong. Both teams displayed exceptional teamwork and determination but the Lemurs of Motiong ultimately claimed victory with a final score of 58-23.

As the tournament progressed, the 3x3 basketball team showcased impressive defensive skills, earning the title of second place. Many players expressed their hopes of continuing their basketball journeys, with aspirations of playing at higher levels.

The Inter-District Basketball Tournament has once again proven to be a platform for the incredible talent and sportsmanship of young athletes, igniting the spirit of competition and camaraderie.

Thanks to Mr Manuel Versoza and Mrs. Ellen Verzosa for the drive to bring the team to the heights of success.
