April 22, 2026 | Earth Day 🌱

In observance of Earth Day, a tree planting activity was successfully conducted at the Mimbilisan Protected Landscape in Mapua, Balingoan, Misamis Oriental.

This meaningful initiative was made possible through the valuable partnership and support of Minergy Power Corporation – Balingasag Office, which generously provided the seedlings, and the LGU of Talisayan for transportation assistance. We also extend our sincere appreciation to CENRO Gingoog, MENRO Talisayan, and Talisayan MPS for their active participation and commitment to environmental protection.

Together, we continue to work towards preserving and sustaining our natural resources for future generations. 🌍

National Anti-Hazing Awareness Week
February 9–13, 2026

This week, in line with Proclamation No. 907, The BukSU - Talisayan Campus NSTP students joined the social media awareness campaign, shared advocacy posters, and used Facebook profile frames supporting RA 11053 (Anti-Hazing Act of 2018).

Yesterday’s symposium with PSMS Maridel S. Rivera from the Municipal Police Station enlightened students on hazing, its legal consequences, and issues surrounding brotherhoods, sororities, and fraternities. The Anti-Hazing Pledge, led by Kent John Sabuero, NSTP Officer, affirmed students’ commitment not to participate in hazing. Afterward, students showcased their creativity in a Poster-Making Activity supporting the campaign.

All these activities were made possible by the NSTP workforce. Kudos to the team for their effort and dedication in making the week meaningful.

NSTP Symposium 2025 | BukSU Talisayan Campus

In line with our commitment to learning and nation-building, the National Service Training Program (NSTP) of Bukidnon State University – Talisayan Campus successfully held a Symposium on October 29, 2025, at the campus covered court.
The activity aimed to raise awareness and promote responsible citizenship through discussions on pressing national concerns and relevant laws:

📘 Republic Act 9165 – Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002

🐾 Republic Act 9147 – Wildlife Resources Conservation and Protection Act

♻️ Republic Act 9003 — Solid Waste Management Act

⚠️ Republic Act 10121 – Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010

We were honored to have our distinguished resource speakers—PSSg. Ermio Jarantilla, Mr. Rogyn G. Edpalina, Mr. Ronilo Bombeo, and representatives from DENR CENRO Gingoog Mr. Kristoffer Vergara and Mr. Cleramie Garcia, who generously shared their knowledge and expertise on these significant topics.

This meaningful event reminded our students of their vital role in fostering discipline, environmental care, and disaster preparedness within the community.

“OPLAN BAYANIHAN SA KALINISAN: A Mission to Clean Rooms for Clear Mind”

Community Cleanup Drive 🌳♻️
📍 Poblacion, Santa Ana, Talisayan, Misamis Oriental

Our NSTP-CWTS team cleaned up three areas:
• The shady picnic spot near Daycare Center
• Around Santa Ana basketball court
• Outside the Coast Guard House

We collected:
🍫 Food wrappers
🥤 Random bottles
🗑️ Assorted trash

No big program - just us, some brooms, and determination to clean our community's hangout spots.

Big thanks to Ma'am Mary Rose Cabahug-Frimacion for guiding us through another successful cleanup!

Coastal Cleanup
🌊 Silent Service by the Sea 🌊

"We didn’t inherit this coast from our ancestors—we borrowed it from our future."

Under the guidance of Ma'am Mary Rose Cabahug-Frimacion, our NSTP-CWTS instructor, our team took action along the shores of Poblacion, Talisayan - no fanfare, just:

1️⃣ Collecting plastic waste and debris
2️⃣ Properly disposing of marine trash

A special thanks to the boulevard maintenance crew for sharing their cleaning tools with us.

The waves weren't the only force making an impact that day.
