The BMH came together with energy and purpose as they celebrated this yearโs SYG Kick-Off on August 7, 2026 at the school gym, with the theme, "A Mission That Starts Within YOUth."
The program unfolded with a solemn prayer led by the KOA/LOA leaders, followed by an unfreezers, facilitated by the core leaders, to warm up the crowd. Sister Jo then delivered the opening message, reminding students that the mission of faith and service begins with each young individual.
To set the tone for the day, a video teaser was shown in the gym. After that, the 4 clusters were introduced with their element:
1. Cultural - Earth
2. Evangelization - Air
3. Social - Water
4. Communications - Fire
As the excitement continued, the flag run started, wherein 3 leaders or members per group proudly carried their flags color. A meaningful and breathtaking dance performance was then showcased by the grade 9 and 12 students.
As the afternoon went on, the gym became a concert ground during the jamming session, lead the by the COMBO and FOCAM, while a salo-salo per group was ongoing. The event then wrapped up with a closing prayer led by the BIBLOS members.
The SYG Kick-Off 2026 opens the school yearโs journey of faith and service. Similar to the four elements that bring balance, the BMH are called to live the spirit of Earth, Air, Water, and Fire through their clusters, as witnesses of peace, evangelization, service, and communication. This celebration invites the young to say "Yes" to Godโs call and to live the Salesian spirit as the SYG year begins.
