Casilda Elementary School successfully conducted its Second Portfolio Day, showcasing the hard work and achievements of its leraners. The event was held with the esteemed presence of our School Head, Dr. Edna L. Tasan, whose leadership continues to inspire our educational community.
We were also honored to have Kagawad Ronaline Bacalso, Chairperson of the Education Committee, who demonstrated her unwavering support for the school's programs and initiatives. Her presence underscored the importance of collaboration between the local government and the school in fostering quality education.
The event also benefited from the active participation of GPTA President Sandra Violeta and her dedicated officers. Their commitment to the welfare of the learners and the school is truly commendable. The parents' enthusiastic involvement further enriched the event, highlighting the strong partnership between home and school.
Portfolio Day served as a platform for learners to exhibit their academic growth and creativity through a diverse collection of their work. It provided an opportunity for parents and stakeholders to witness firsthand the progress and accomplishments of the learners. 📢 Successful Completion of the 2025 ELLNA Assessment
November 13, 2025

We are proud to announce the successful conduct of the Early Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Assessment (ELLNA) at Casilda Elementary School today! This important activity underscores our commitment to nurturing foundational skills in language and numeracy among our young learners.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our dedicated teachers headed by Dr. Edna L. Tasan School Head and students for their hard work and cooperation in ensuring the smooth implementation of this assessment. Also, Big thanks to the Room Examiners Your perseverance and professionalism truly made this achievement possible.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to Mam Melcanie Gozo Arreglado Maureal Merida District Supervisor, for her invaluable Technical Assistance and Monitoring throughout the activity. Her guidance and support were instrumental in upholding the integrity and success of the ELLNA.

LGU-Merida Conducts Post-Earthquake Inspection at Casilda Elementary School
Following the 6.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Leyte on September 30, 2025, the Inspection Team of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Merida conducted an urgent ocular inspection of Casilda Elementary School on October 1, 2025. The assessment focused on evaluating structural safety and potential damage to school buildings and infrastructure.

As a precautionary measure, all classes across all grade levels have been temporarily suspended to prioritize the safety of students and staff.

Inspection Team 1 Members:
• FO2 Freddie Arevalo (Fire Officer II, Merida Fire Station – Disaster Risk Assessment)
• Mr. Raul G. Itchon (Representative, MENRO* – Environmental Safety Evaluation)
• Engr. Zadec Cardente (Municipal Engineer, MPDO** – Structural Integrity Check)
• Driver: Brian Eras (Vehicle: XOG 214)

School Head Dr. Edna L. Tasan, along with teaching and non-teaching personnel, welcomed the team and provided full cooperation during the inspection. Dr. Tasan emphasized, "The safety of our learners and staff is our top priority. We appreciate the LGU’s swift action to ensure our facilities are secure."

Next Steps:
The LGU will issue further updates based on the inspection findings to determine when classes can safely resume.

Celebrating Success at Casilda Elementary School’s 1st Quarter Portfolio Day! 📚✨

Aligned with Division Memo 481 s. 2025, Casilda Elementary School proudly hosted its 1st Quarter Portfolio Day for SY 2025–2026 on August 30, 2025!

The day began with a General Assembly led by our dedicated School Head, Dr. Edna L. Tasan, who shared updates on the upcoming Congressional Meet and expressed heartfelt gratitude to:
• Parents who supported the Lakan at Lakambini event (August 28, 2025).
• Generous donors who contributed essential school materials, including bluetooth speakers and sports equipment.

Highlights of the Program:
🏆 Awarding of Certificates: Outstanding learners received Certificates of Recognition, celebrated alongside their proud parents.

👨👩👧👦 HRPTA Activities:
• Parent-Teacher Conferences: Collaborative feedback sessions to support student growth.
• Showcasing Pupils’ Outputs: Creative projects and academic work displayed with pride.

What a day! The District Athletic Meet 2025 was a resounding success, with Cluster 3 emerging as the overall champion! 🥇

Representing Casilda Elementary School, Can-unzo Elementary School, Cambalong Elementary School, Tubod Primary School, Lundag Elementary School, San Jose Elementary School, Calunasan Elementary School, Mat-E Primary School, and Libas National High School, our incredible athletes showcased their talent, determination, and teamwork.

The Casilda Elementary School was honored to welcome Atty. Christian Salta today! As a dedicated member of the municipal council, Atty. Salta visited to discuss how he can further support our school's initiatives and address our needs. His commitment to education is truly commendable.

In a heartwarming gesture, Atty. Salta also generously donated funds to support our Football Elementary Boys as they prepare for the upcoming district and congressional meet. This contribution will greatly assist in providing them with the resources they need to succeed.
