The SF2 Team conducted a monitoring activity in Sitio Ulipanan, Brgy. Dahican, Jose Panganiban, to observe the seaweed harvesting and assess the effectiveness of the spacer float technology introduced to local farmers.

The team also carried out interviews with seaweed farmers, which yielded positive feedback on the use of the technology and its impact on their production.

The activity was conducted in close coordination with the LGU Jose Panganiban – Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO).

The SF2 Team conducted a field monitoring activity on March 26, 2026, in Jose Panganiban. In partnership with the LGU-MAO and the Samahan ng mga Mangingisda ng Ulipanan, the team assessed the utilization of the installed spacer float technology in the seaweed culture practices of local farmers.

The team also engaged directly with the farmers through interviews to evaluate the effectiveness of the innovation and to gather valuable insights and suggestions for its continuous improvement.

Today, Ms. Sheena F. Furio, SF2 Project Leader, presented the progress of the Seaweed Farming and Spacer Float Utilization Project, along with the challenges being addressed by the committed GUroLAMAN Team.

May 6, 2025 — The SF2 Team officially began the first phase of its monitoring activities today as part of its continued efforts to support local seaweed farmers in Camarines Norte.

To further support the implementation of the project, sacks of seaweed propagules were distributed to selected farming communities in Jose Panganiban, Camarines Norte. This initiative was made possible through the assistance of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources – Camarines Norte Provincial Office (BFAR-CNPO) and the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of Jose Panganiban.

The propagules were transported early morning from Cayucyucan, Mercedes, with logistical support provided by the CNSC Motorpool Unit.
