1st National Public Relations Conversity 2013

1st National Public Relations Conversity 2013 Conversity is a coined term from the words ‘convergence’ and ‘university’. This is the official page of the 1st National Public Relations Conversity.

This PR Conversity will enable students from different universities to meet and share their learnings and insights on PR. The NPRC aims to bring together PR and communications students from different colleges and universities in Metro Manila. The conversity will allow them to enhance their knowledge of public relations; establish a deeper appreciation of PR as a career-choice and profession; conne

ct them to the industry by inviting professionals who will share powerful insights, perspectives and experiences; and ultimately come to a full understanding of PR as an art and science. The idea of conversity is also applied to organizations where the practice of PR thrives. It is a must for students to learn the complexities brought about by diversities in an organization to ensure harmony and sound relationships among its members. This will be further useful to them as they soon practice their profession and face the real world of PR. Conversity is also a principle of bringing together diverse personas, cultures and ideas through focusing on common values. With this, we intend to bring various universities together – all with diverse approaches to PR – and create an avenue where communications and PR students will have a common understanding of the concepts and trends that are being observed and practiced in the industry today. “If a young man tells his date how handsome, smart and successful he is – that’s advertising. If the young man tells his date she’s intelligent, looks lovely, and is a great conversationalist, he’s saying the right things to the right person and that’s marketing. If someone else tells the young woman how handsome, smart and successful her date is – that’s PR.” – S. H. Simmons
