𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗖𝗜𝗟𝗜𝗨𝗠 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 ⚖️ | 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘀

A meaningful gathering of minds, leadership, and excellence at CONCILIUM 2026, the 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 of the 𝗨𝗠 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, held on 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the 𝗨𝗠 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮 𝗔𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘂𝗺.

The activity brought together the Assistant Dean and Office-in-Charge of UMCLE, 𝗔𝘁𝘁𝘆. 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗕. 𝗗𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺, the esteemed faculty members, and the students of the College for an afternoon of recognition, celebration, and fellowship.

The program featured the presentation of the UMCLE Faculty, the recognition of the Dean’s Listers, and the honoring of the officers of the UMCLE Student Government and other student organizations in recognition of their academic excellence, leadership, service, and contributions to the College.

More than a general orientation, CONCILIUM 2026 was a celebration of the people who make the UMCLE community stronger—students who strive for excellence, leaders who choose to serve, and educators who continue to guide future advocates of justice.

Here’s to another year of learning, leading, serving, and pursuing justice together. ⚖️💙

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | 𝐔𝐌 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐒𝐘𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐌

The 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 follow a standardized grading system aligned with international standards, providing a consistent basis for evaluating students’ academic performance.

The grading system uses a 4.0-𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲, where each grade corresponds to a specific level of academic performance. The highest grade, 4.0 or A, denotes High Distinction, while the lowest passing grade, 2.0 or C-, denotes Average. A grade of 1.0 or F is considered Failing.

Students are also reminded to understand the requirements and corresponding actions for 7.1 and 7.2 grades:

7.1 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 — 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻
The 7.1 mark is related to an outstanding financial balance. It will be automatically updated to a passing grade in the portal once the outstanding balance has been fully settled. Payment must be completed no later than the end of the following semester. Failure to settle the balance within the prescribed period will result in the 7.1 grade becoming permanent and recorded as “No Grade.”

7.2 𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗘 — 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆
The 7.2 mark indicates an academic deficiency that must be completed within the upcoming semester. Students are responsible for coordinating with their instructor to determine the remaining requirements, assignments, or activities that need to be completed. Students may contact their instructor through email, Quipper, or other official online platforms.

Failure to complete the required academic deficiencies within the prescribed period will result in the 7.2 mark remaining on the academic record as “No Grade,” and the student will be required to re-enroll in the subject.

Students are encouraged to regularly check their grades, settle financial obligations on time, and communicate with their instructors regarding any academic deficiencies.

SEMINAR ON E-NOTARIZATION: Legal Framework, Ethical Standards, and Practical Applications

The University of Mindanao – College of Legal Education, through the University of Mindanao Legal Advocacy Network (ULAN), invites all UM Law Faculty, UM Alumni Lawyers, CLEP Students, interested lawyers, and notaries public to a seminar on the emerging practice of Electronic Notarization (E-Notarization).

This seminar will explore the legal framework, ethical standards, and practical applications of e-notarization, providing participants with relevant knowledge on its proper use and application in legal practice.
