Three of our GEMS, representing the DOrSU Raptors, made a strong impression at MASTS 2025, turning their skills into standout performances. Each of them approached the competition with focus and wit, showing what they can achieve through effort and talent. We also recognize our English faculty for supporting and encouraging them throughout this journey, a moment of pride for both GEMS and DOrSU.

BSED-English Project I.N.Q.U.I.R.Y. (Inspire New Questions, Understand Insights, Research Yields) welcomed Badas National High School (BNHS) students to Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) for a library tour that introduced them to valuable references for their research papers. The visit also provided them with access to credible sources and practical exposure to academic resources.
The activity was followed by a lecture on crafting effective Review of Related Literature (RRL) section, equipping the students with strategies in organizing and synthesizing scholarly works. Project I.N.Q.U.I.R.Y. continues to foster research skills and a culture of inquiry among young learners.

Congratulations to our BSED-English faculty member ๐๐ง. ๐ผ๐ง๐ฃ๐๐ ๐ผ. ๐๐๐ก๐๐ง๐, ๐๐ผ๐๐ for the publication of his short story titled โ๐ฝ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐โ in Scholarly Lens: A Literary Magazine for Educators (Dreamer Publishing Services).
โ๐ฝ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐โ is a deeply introspective narrative written in the first-person point of view, employing a stream-of-consciousness technique that unravels the psychological breakdown of Enteng, a father abandoned by his spouse, estranged from his child, and consumed by guilt, grief, and drugs.
This literary achievement, written in Bisaya, reflects not only creative brilliance but also a strong commitment to preserving local language and storytelling traditions.
