𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖 | FTED Holds Fifth Annual Mock Board Examination for 480 CSA Students

Today, May 10, the Faculty of Teacher Education (FTED) of Davao Oriental State University is currently conducting its Fifth Annual Mock Board Examination at the Academic Building, participated in by 480 students under the Competencies and Skills Appraisal (CSA) course.

Led by FTED Dean Dr. Jocelyn C. Arles and CSA Coordinator Hasmera M. Pacio, the ongoing initiative serves as a comprehensive preparatory assessment aimed at evaluating the academic readiness and examination preparedness of aspiring educators for the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT). The mock examination covers the three primary components of the actual board examination: General Education, Professional Education, and Area of Specialization.

Grounded in the university’s commitment to academic excellence and quality teacher education, the annual activity provides future educators with a simulated testing environment that reflects the structure, standards, and rigor of the national licensure examination. Through this academic undertaking, students are given the opportunity to strengthen their test-taking proficiency, identify areas for improvement, build confidence, and further enhance their readiness for professional certification.

The Faculty of Teacher Education continues to uphold its mission of producing competent, resilient, and future-ready educators equipped for professional practice and national qualification.

All 4th Year students are encouraged to follow their assigned schedules accordingly to ensure an organized and smooth distribution process. Please be guided by the designated dates and time slots posted below.

Beyond the accolades, the competition underscored a deeper commitment to learning and academic growth. The University Student Council extends its warmest congratulations to the delegates, whose achievement serves as a testament to perseverance and the pursuit of knowledge—an inspiration for the student body to continue striving for excellence.

Nurturing learners’ literacy development and socio-emotional well-being, the Faculty of Teacher Education (FTEd) completed the PAGBASA Project Kwento’t Kalinga: Reading to Heal the Mind and Heart following the activity HAKBANG PAGSULONG: Post-Assessment and Reflection Program on March 7, 2026, at HFK Taganilao, Mati City.

Marking a meaningful phase in the implementation of the initiative Project Proffering Adequate Guide in Building a Sustainable Advocacy (PAGBASA): A Reading Plus Laboratory in Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU), the concluding session centered on reflective reading and guided storytelling activities designed to support learners in expressing thoughts and emotions, strengthening comprehension skills, and fostering a sense of care, empathy, and resilience through literature.

Reinforcing the institution’s commitment to holistic education, the program underscored the importance of integrating literacy development with emotional support mechanisms, ensuring that learners are equipped with both cognitive and affective skills necessary for academic success and personal growth.

The reflective component of the session allowed participants to share insights, experiences, and realizations gained throughout the intervention.

This initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Faculty of Teacher Education, particularly the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED), and Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNED), among other programs, together with partner schools and stakeholders, demonstrating the university’s sustained dedication to advancing literacy, learner well-being, and community engagement.
