With a strong push to further safeguard learners and school personnel, the Workshop on the Updating of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Contingency Plans for Schools was officially rolled out at Bahia Vista Resort, Curvada, Cataingan, Masbate, starting February 6โ7 and continuing through February 11โ21, 2026.
Conducted in six batches and designed as a two-day intensive workshop per batch, the activity focuses on strengthening school-level preparedness by revisiting and enhancing DRRM contingency plans anchored on current risk assessments and realistic disaster scenarios. Participants engage in collaborative planning sessions, technical discussions, and hands-on activities aimed at improving prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery mechanisms in schools.
The initiative underscores the SDO Masbate's firm commitment to building resilient, disaster-ready schools and ensuring a safer learning environment for all.
