With the theme: โ€œSustaining Ocean Health, Sailing Resilient Nation,โ€ the school YES-O adviser together with selected FANHS athlete learners proudly participated in the DENR Fun Run for the Ocean โ€” promoting not only health and wellness, but also environmental awareness and action.

Running beside the beautiful boulevard reminded us how lucky we are to witness and appreciate the beauty of our seas and seascapes while staying active and healthy at the same time.

But beyond the fun run, this is also a reminder that protecting our oceans starts with simple everyday actions:

โ™ป๏ธ Protect our coastlines
๐Ÿ  Conserve marine biodiversity
๐Ÿšซ Reduce plastic waste
๐Ÿงน Keep our oceans and shorelines clean
๐ŸŒฑ Support sustainable livelihoods and eco-friendly practices
๐Ÿ“ข Inspire others to care for the environment
๐Ÿ›๏ธ Use reusable bags, bottles, and containers
๐ŸŒŠ Never throw plastics and garbage into rivers, canals, and oceans โ€” because every piece of waste eventually finds its way to the sea

Our oceans give us life, food, livelihood, and protection. It is our responsibility to care for them for future generations. ๐Ÿ’™

Francisco Alindogan NHS teachers and students proudly participated in todayโ€™s Coastal Fun Run, Tree Planting, and Coastal Clean-Up Drive as part of the Bakhawan Festival 2026 celebration.

More than just a fun and colorful run, this activity reminded us that every step we take can help protect and preserve our environment. Together, we ran for health, planted for the future, and cleaned for a greener and cleaner community.

Thank you to all students, teachers, organizers, and volunteers who made this meaningful activity possible. ๐Ÿ’š

This Earth Day, letโ€™s turn small actions into big impact! ๐Ÿ’š๐ŸŒ
Here are simple ways YOU can help protect our planet:

1. ๐Ÿšซ Do not burn waste โ€“ It pollutes the air and harms our health.
2. โ™ป๏ธ Segregate your waste properly โ€“ Separate biodegradable waste, compost it, and turn it into FREE fertilizer for plants.
3. ๐ŸŒฑ Plant your own food or support local produce โ€“ Fresh, healthy, and eco-friendly!
4. ๐Ÿค Join environmental programs and activities โ€“ Be part of the solution, not the pollution.
5. ๐Ÿ’ง Conserve water โ€“ Turn off taps when not in use and fix leaks.
6. ๐Ÿ”Œ Save electricity โ€“ Unplug unused appliances and switch off lights.
7. ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Reduce single-use plastics โ€“ Use eco-bags, tumblers, and reusable containers.
8. ๐ŸŒณ Plant trees and care for them โ€“ Not just planting, but nurturing them matters.
9. ๐Ÿšฏ Dispose of waste responsibly โ€“ Do not throw garbage anywhere, especially in mangroves, seas, roads, and other protected areas. Every piece of waste left behind harms nature.
10. ๐Ÿ“ข Educate others โ€“ Share knowledge and inspire more people to care for the environment.

Remember: We donโ€™t need a few people doing it perfectly, we need everyone doing it consistently.

One Hour, One Act, Big Impact

As our country faces a growing fuel and energy crisis, every small action matters more than ever. The Philippines is currently experiencing rising fuel prices and supply challenges due to global conflicts affecting oil distribution, even prompting a national energy emergency. ๏ฟผ

Yana, mas klarado kaysa dati na an enerhiya limitado.

This Earth Hour, let us stand together as one YES-O community.
Letโ€™s switch off our lights for 60 minutes and show that we care for our planet, for our future, and for our country.

An pagpatay san ilaw dili lang simbolo, kundi padumdom na magtipid kita san enerhiya, magbawas san paggamit san kuryente kag protektahan an kapalibutan.

Did you know that seagrass meadows are some of the most important ecosystems in our coasts? They support marine life, sustain fisheries, protect shorelines, and even help fight climate change by storing carbon. ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒŠ

But theyโ€™re under threat from pollution, destructive fishing, and coastal development.

This , let us work together to conserve and restore our seagrass beds for healthier seas, stronger coasts, and a sustainable future.

In support of the School Greening Program and the mandated environmental initiatives of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), this activity aligns with the DepEd OUA MEMO 00-1021-0204 dated 22 October 2021, Recommended Programs, Projects, and Activities of the YES-O for SY 2021-2022, and the Division Memorandum No. 308, s. 2022, Mandated Programs, Projects, and Activities for YES-O. These issuances encourage schools to implement key environmental actions such as the establishment of nurseries and seedbanks, and the planting and growing of trees/mangroves to strengthen climate resilience and biodiversity conservation within the school community.

Francisco Alindogan National High School โ€“ YES-Organization, in collaboration with the school SSLG, extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the Symposium on Native Trees for Biodiversity and Climate Change Mitigation held on November 27, 2025, at the ICT Room.

We are deeply grateful to our distinguished DENR Resource Speakers for sharing their expertise and strengthening our learnersโ€™ environmental awareness. Ms. Marical B. Aรฑonuevo, Ecosystems Management Specialist I, discussed the importance of biodiversity and the need to protect our ecosystems. Ms. Michaela Kate A. Que, Forester I, provided valuable insights on climate change, its impacts, and the role of forests in climate action. Meanwhile, Ms. Emmiejean C. Sabaulan, Forester I, highlighted the significance of Philippine native trees and guided us on proper nursery establishment to support sustainable greening initiatives.

We also thank the YES-O, SSLG, and BKD Officers for their active participation during the symposium and in the Amazing Race Activity that followed. We truly appreciate the enthusiasm and teamwork shown throughout the event. We are especially grateful to our DENR speakers and other personnel for facilitating the awarding of prizes, making the activity more fun, interactive, and memorable for everyone. ๐ŸŒฑ

As our next step, we look forward to the establishment of our School Nursery for native trees โ€” a vital initiative that will help sustain future greening programs and strengthen our role in environmental conservation.

Let us continue working together for a healthier and greener environment.

Save biodiversity, plant native trees. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š
