𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐌 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐉𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒
Calling all Junior High School students in Masbate!
The Department of Trade and Industry – Masbate Provincial Office invites public and private junior high schools to participate in the 2026 Regional Consumerism Challenge for Junior High School Students – Provincial Elimination on September 7, 2026, at 8:30 AM in the City of Masbate. The exact venue will be announced soon.
Each school may send one (1) team composed of two (2) learner-contestants, accompanied by one (1) official coach. Participating schools shall also designate one (1) alternate contestant. Contestants must be Filipino citizens, currently enrolled junior high school students of the school they represent, and must not have competed in the previous years’ Consumerism Challenge. No registration fee will be collected.
𝑸𝑼𝑰𝒁 𝑩𝑬𝑬 𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑷𝑬𝑹:
The competition will consist of 20 questions divided into three categories:
True or False – 7 questions | 1 point each | 5 seconds
Multiple Choice – 7 questions | 2 points each | 5 seconds
Identification – 6 questions | 3 points each | 10 seconds
Questions will be flashed on the digital screen and read twice by the Quiz Master. Contestants may write their answers only upon the start of the timer and must raise their answer sheets upon hearing the buzzer. Answers must be written in capital letters, and wrong spelling will render an answer incorrect.
The top three teams per Schools Division Office (SDO) with the highest scores after the 20 questions will be declared First, Second, and Third Place. In case of a tie, three tie-breaker questions will be given, followed by a sudden-death question if the tie remains.
The First Place winner from each SDO will advance to the Regional Finals on September 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM at SM City Legazpi.
𝑪𝑶𝑽𝑬𝑹𝑨𝑮𝑬:
The competition will cover the Consumer Act of the Philippines (RA 7394), Price Act (RA 7581), Standards Law (RA 4109), To***co Regulation Act (RA 9211), Vaporized Ni****ne and Non-Ni****ne Products Regulation Act (RA 11900), Guidelines on the Grant of Bagwis Award (DAO 17-08), Presidential Decree No. 1572, Guidelines for the Conduct of Price and Supply Monitoring (DO 20-86), and the No Shortchanging Act of 2016 (RA 10909), including their applicable implementing rules and regulations.
𝑷𝑹𝑶𝑽𝑰𝑵𝑪𝑰𝑨𝑳 𝑷𝑹𝑰𝒁𝑬𝑺 𝑷𝑬𝑹 𝑺𝑫𝑶:
1st Prize – Php 8,000.00 + Certificate
2nd Prize – Php 5,000.00 + Certificate
3rd Prize – Php 3,000.00 + Certificate
The First Place team from each Schools Division Office (SDO) will earn the opportunity to represent the province at the Regional Finals.
Interested schools may signify their intent to join by accomplishing the official entry form, which may be submitted personally or via email by the school’s authorized representative to the DTI–Masbate Provincial Office.
