As concerned citizens from Mindanao, we have always recognized our responsibility to stand at the forefront of informed discourse on issues that shape the future of our region. Today, we continue to uphold that responsibility by taking a principled stand on the proposed Public-Private Partnership involving the Agus-Pulangi Hydroelectric Power Complex.

This issue extends beyond energy infrastructure or policy. It concerns the governance of one of Mindanao's most strategic public assets and raises important questions on public accountability, energy security, electricity affordability, and the long-term management of infrastructure that has served generations of Mindanaoans.

As people of Lanao and Mindanao, we have the responsibility not only to be aware of current issues but also to examine them critically and participate in meaningful public discourse.

The Magna Carta of Public Health Workers was enacted to recognize the invaluable contributions of public health workers and to ensure their welfare through just compensation, adequate benefits, humane working conditions, and opportunities for professional growth. More than a legal framework, it serves as a commitment to those who dedicate their lives to safeguarding the health of our communities.

Yet, despite the protections guaranteed by law, challenges in implementation continue to raise concerns about whether public health workers are truly receiving the support they deserve.

But the question remains: While we often rely on public health workers to respond to the needs of our communities, how often do we ask whether they themselves are receiving the support they need to succeed, thrive, and continue serving with dignity?
