๐Ÿ“ŒLOOK | RC-AKICFI-Main Students Embark on an Educational Journey to Dapitan City

Educational Field Trip of Art Appreciation and Purposive Communication Students

May 14โ€“16, 2026

The Art Appreciation and Purposive Communication students of RC-AKICFI-Main embarked on an educational field trip to Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, from May 14 to 16, 2026, accompanied by their teachers and student assistants. The activity aimed to deepen the studentsโ€™ understanding of art, history, culture, and communication through meaningful real-life experiences beyond the classroom.

The journey began on the evening of May 14, when students gathered at the school for assembly and orientation. From 7:00 PM until midnight, preparations were completed before the group officially departed from Marawi City. The long journey was filled with excitement as everyone looked forward to the experiences awaiting them in Dapitan City.

Upon arriving in Dapitan, the group enjoyed a refreshing breakfast before proceeding to their first destination the historical site where Dr. Jose Rizal first arrived in Dapitan by boat during his exile. Students listened attentively to a brief discussion facilitated by the Leadership Institute student assistants, who shared important historical information about Rizalโ€™s arrival and contributions to the community. The visit concluded with group photographs to commemorate the occasion.

The next destination was Dakak Park and Beach Resort, one of Dapitan Cityโ€™s most famous attractions. Students enjoyed the breathtaking scenery, the relaxing sound of the sea, and the refreshing coastal atmosphere. The group participated in various recreational activities, including riding a banana boat, exploring the waters through a glass-bottom boat, tasting local specialties, and taking memorable photographs. The visit provided an opportunity for students to appreciate the beauty of nature while strengthening friendships and teamwork.

Afterward, the group visited the Rizal Shrine and Park, one of Dapitanโ€™s most treasured historical landmarks. Here, students explored the place where Dr. Jose Rizal spent his years in exile. They learned about his daily life, achievements, educational initiatives, and the various contributions he made to the people of Dapitan. The visit allowed students to connect classroom lessons with actual historical sites, making their learning experience more meaningful and memorable.

For lunch, the group proceeded to Fantasyland Theme Park, where they dined at a restaurant known for its excellent food and quality service. The students greatly enjoyed the meals, describing them as highly satisfying and memorable. After lunch, the group was given free time to rest and relax for several hours before the attractions officially opened at 4:00 PM.

At exactly 4:00 PM, the excitement continued as the students explored Fantasyland Theme Park. They enjoyed various attractions, including Snow World, the 5D Cinema, theatrical performances, the Parade of Festivals, a spectacular Fireworks Display, the Horror House, and Lakbay Pinas. The park offered a unique blend of entertainment, culture, and adventure, creating unforgettable experiences for everyone. Laughter, excitement, and joy filled the day as students balanced learning with recreation.

After a fun-filled day, the group checked in at GFL Suites for a well-deserved rest. The comfortable accommodation provided an opportunity for everyone to recharge and reflect on the dayโ€™s experiences.

Early in the morning of May 16, the group prepared for their return journey to Marawi City. Although their stay in Dapitan lasted only one night, the lessons learned and memories created will remain with them for years to come.

Beyond the beautiful destinations and exciting activities, the field trip taught students valuable lessons about teamwork, respect, responsibility, cooperation, and appreciation for culture and history. The success of the journey reflected the dedication of the faculty members, the support of the student assistants, and the active participation of the students themselves.

The Art Appreciation and Purposive Communication students would also like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Leadership Institute student assistants for their guidance and support throughout the trip. Their assistance helped ensure the safety, organization, and overall success of the educational tour. We are grateful for the opportunity to work together and create meaningful experiences for everyone involved.

This field trip was more than just a getaway, it was a meaningful educational journey that combined learning, adventure, cultural appreciation, and camaraderie into one unforgettable experience.

โ€œTravel is not only about seeing new places; it is about gaining new perspectives. Through this journey, we learned that history comes alive when we experience it firsthand, art becomes meaningful when we appreciate its cultural roots, and communication grows stronger when we connect with people and places beyond the classroom. The memories we created may fade with time, but the lessons we learned will guide us for years to come.โ€

LOOK | NCMF โ€“ LANAO hosts โ€œStrengthening Community Resilience: A Local Approach to Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism (PCVE)โ€

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) โ€“ Lanao successfully conducted a meaningful and timely program focused on strengthening community resilience through a local approach in preventing and countering violent extremism. The event gathered participants from RC-AKIC Local Council, the Leadership Institute, and other partner organizations, fostering collaboration and shared responsibility in promoting peace within communities.

The program formally opened with Ms. Sittie Jehan S. Mama, who also served as the Master of Ceremonies, guiding the flow of the session with clarity and professionalism.

In her opening remarks, Maโ€™am Nor-Ain U. Ansari, LPT, MPA, OIC Dean of RC-AKIC, emphasized the significance of the event, especially in todayโ€™s context. She highlighted the importance of proactive engagement in peacebuilding and expressed gratitude for the opportunity, noting that this marks the first time RC-AKIC was invited to participate in such a meaningful initiative.

A short but impactful message was delivered by Chief Sultan Acdami D. Bansao, who underscored that peace is not merely the absence of war or the presence of programs, but is reflected in actions and their effects on people. He reminded participants that while one may not be able to solve everything, each individual can take part in preventing harm and promoting peace in their own lives.

The session continued with Maโ€™am Kharima T. Ananggo, who facilitated an interactive activity aligned with the eventโ€™s theme. She emphasized how even small actions whether intentional or emotional can deeply affect others. Her key message centered on respect: despite differences in beliefs, culture, and society, we must uphold mutual respect and refrain from judgment. Indeed, even the smallest actions can influence human lives in profound ways.

One of the highlights of the activity was the reflective question: โ€œAs a student, how can you be part of peace?โ€ encouraging participants to internalize their role in building a more harmonious community.

The Leadership Institute Organization extends its sincere gratitude to NCMF Lanao for the invitation to this successful and meaningful event. The knowledge and insights gained will not only remain as lessons but will be applied in our daily lives and leadership practices.

We also express our appreciation to Sir Albanie M. Cabugatan, LPT, Chairperson of the Education Department and SSC Coordinator, for making our participation possible and for continuously supporting student engagement in transformative programs.

โ€œPeace begins not in grand actions, but in the quiet, consistent choices we make to respect, understand, and uplift one another every day.โ€

The event was opened through the meaningful remarks of our supportive Executive Secretary Ms. Aisah A. Suaib, who emphasized that the pinning ceremony is more than a tradition, it is a responsibility to uphold the values of leadership, integrity, and service. Her message reminded everyone that true leadership begins with purpose and commitment.

The highlight of the program was the message delivered by our esteemed guest speaker, Hon. Atty. Mohammad Yasgar R. Ayo, who shared valuable insights on leadership. He emphasized that while competence is important, it is oneโ€™s character (akhlaq) and intention (niyat) that truly define how far a leader can go. He reminded the participants that leadership is not only about what we do, but why we do it, leaving everyone with a powerful reflection: โ€œKanino ka bumabangon?โ€

Following the inspiring message, tokens of appreciation were awarded as a gesture of gratitude. The ceremony then proceeded to its most anticipated part the Pinning Ceremony, officially welcoming the new members into the Leadership Institute. ๐ŸŽ“

A heartfelt moment followed through a short video presentation showcasing the journey of both batches, highlighting their growth, perseverance, and shared experiences throughout their leadership journey.

The program concluded with the closing remarks of our alumni and Program Coordinator of Criminology Department Ms. Hidaya Casim, who reminded the newly pinned members that this day marks the beginning of their true journey as leaders, one that requires dedication, humility, and continuous growth.
