RITQ has successfully facilitated the Development Writeshop for the Curriculum Unpacking Resource Guide under the Reframed Pre-Service Teacher Education Curriculum project last April 27-28, 2026, at the City Garden Suites Manila. The writeshop aims to design practical reference documents for the development of various materials for curriculum diffusion and capacity enhancement activities.

Join the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) for the webinar titled “Lost in Transition: How Language Gaps and Shifts Affect Student Learning” on May 28, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM via Zoom.

The webinar will feature two PIDS studies examining how language policies and classroom practices affect student learning outcomes.

📘 “Linguistic Mismatch and Learning Productivity: Evidence from Mother Tongue-based Education in the Philippines” — examines how differences between students’ home language and the language used in instruction affect comprehension, participation, and academic performance.

📗 “Language of Instruction and Transition in Education Systems (LITES), Philippines” — explores how students navigate shifts in the language of instruction across grade levels and identifies policy gaps affecting learning transitions.

RITQ Showcases Key Projects and Knowledge Products in Back-to-Back PNU Institutional Events

RITQ recently highlighted its ongoing initiatives and projects during the Teacher Education Council (TEC) field visit from May 7 to 8, 2026 and the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Institutional Accreditation Training and Orientation Workshop, held from May 21 to 22, 2026. A dedicated exhibit was set up for the two significant institutional events at the Philippine Normal University (PNU). This showcase gave RITQ the opportunity to feature its current projects and knowledge products, including the development of learning resources and formative evaluation for the Revised K to 10 Curriculum pilot implementation, multiple phases of the pre-service teacher education curricula models, and research papers supporting curriculum reframing. Visitors and evaluators also explored a wide array of RITQ publications, such as copies of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers, School Heads, and Supervisors, alongside specialized program documents, discussion papers, the shaping paper on reframed pre-service teacher education, and the comprehensive first-year research report on the revised K to 10 curriculum implementation.

This extensive exhibit served as a vital component for the aforementioned university events aimed at validating and elevating educational excellence. The TEC field visit served as the second-layer validation of PNU’s application for Center of Excellence status under Republic Act Number 11713. The AACCUP Institutional Accreditation Training and Orientation Workshop on the other hand gathered university leaders and experts to strengthen PNU's quality assurance strategies and portfolio development across nine core assessment areas. Through these successful engagements, RITQ continues to demonstrate its commitment to supporting PNU and the broader Philippine education system in driving sustainable reforms and institutional excellence.
