Out of 117 million Filipinos, only about 1.8 million are working online today.
That’s barely 3–4% of our labor force.
Compare that with the global demand: more than 11 million businesses, startups, professionals and NGOs worldwide are actively hiring freelancers and VAs.
The US, UK, Australia, Canada, Singapore, Europe clients are hiring.
The opportunities are massive.
But here’s the catch: only a fraction of Filipinos can even join the game.
Stable internet is still limited.
Many are stuck in low-paying corporate jobs.
And too many are blocked by lack of access, not lack of talent.
The result?
A massive mismatch.
The world is hiring but we’re not showing up enough.
This should wake us up.
We don’t need to think small.
We don’t need to settle for scraps.
Filipinos have the skill, the adaptability and the diskarte.
What we need is to believe we belong on the global stage and start claiming our share.
Because no one else will push for us.
Sino pa ba? Tayo tayo rin. 🙂
