𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸𝘀, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 🤟💛🩵

The first session of “𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘝𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴: 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘶𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘚𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘳 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘱” has successfully concluded! ✨

With the theme, “𝗙𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲,” participants were introduced to the basics of Filipino Sign Language (FSL) and gained deeper understanding of Deaf culture and inclusive communication.

Through the guidance of 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗡. 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀, participants learned the 𝘍𝘚𝘓 𝘢𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘴, 𝘯𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘤𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘳𝘴 — making the session both interactive and meaningful. More than just learning hand signs and gestures, this seminar reminded us that inclusion begins when we choose to understand, respect, and connect with one another beyond words. 🤍

With the theme, “Fostering Inclusivity through Language, Awareness, and Practice,” the 𝙎𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙀𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨 𝘾𝙡𝙪𝙗 proudly launches Hands that Speak: Learning Filipino Sign Language (FSL) — a meaningful 3-session seminar and mini workshop that promotes inclusive communication and deeper awareness of the Deaf community.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟭: 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗳 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 🤟

Today’s session introduced participants to the basics of Filipino Sign Language and the richness of Deaf culture. More than learning signs and gestures, this experience reminds us that true communication begins with understanding, respect, and inclusivity.

Our seminar, “𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙋𝙤𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙚𝙨,“ held in EARIST Amphi-Theater, was a huge success — a powerful gathering that reminded us why inclusivity is a necessity in education and in every corner of society last 𝗗𝗲𝗰. 𝟰, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱. 🌍✨

We were honored to have 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗡. 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 as our guest speaker, whose insights illuminated the real meaning of accessibility, equity, and purposeful advocacy for persons with disabilities.

His message resonated deeply— challenging us, as future Special Educators, to champion spaces where every learner feels valued, supported, and empowered.
