We invite scholars, researchers, graduate students, and educators to explore the intersections of technology, nature, ethics, and theology in dialogue with the thought of St. John Paul II and contemporary philosophical and theological discussions.

The UST Research Center for Theology, Religious Studies and Ethics (RCTRSE) is now accepting research proposals on any of the following areas:

● Ecumenism and Interreligious Dialogue
● Early Christian Studies
● Christian Anthropology
● Human Rights and Just Political Order
● Catholic Bioethics

● Religious Education
● Philosophical Ethics
● Environmental Ethics
Research Grants are available for tenured Faculty members of the University of Santo Tomas (Manila) who have good publication records and a doctorate degree in a discipline relevant to the area of research interest.
Researchers are encouraged to send their accomplished research proposal and research capsule to [email protected] not later than May 15, 2026. Proposals approved after peer review will be accepted for A.Y. 2026-2027.

Lumina et Umbrae: Charting Synodal Pathways in the Philippines
Join us on 9–10 June 2026, at the University of Santo Tomas for a national conference dedicated to reflecting on the Catholic Christianity in the Philippines Study (CCPS).
Following a nationwide study across 86 dioceses, this event aims to disseminate key findings on the "Lights" (strengths) and "Shadows" (challenges) of the Church.
We invite researchers, clergy, and pastoral workers to help discern concrete pathways toward a more synodal Church.

The University of Santo Tomas (through the Center for Thomistic Studies (CTS) of the Research Center for Theology, Religious Studies, and Ethics (RCTRSE), the UST Institute of Religion (IR), the Faculty of Philosophy and their collaborators) is inviting everyone to the Aquinas Symposium 2026: Aquinas and MacIntyre on Politics and the Common Good.
The event will be done on April 16, 2026 (Thursday), 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M., through a Hybrid Format, with onsite venue at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex (TARC) Auditorium. The Zoom link for the onsite participants will be provided after one has completed the Registration.
