Did you know?

The “@” symbol, which we use in every email today, was first chosen by a computer scientist back in 1971. What seemed like a minor decision in coding ultimately shaped how the entire world communicates.

At MyCode, we believe coding is more than just commands—it’s about making choices that spark innovation. :rocket: Who knows? The next big tech breakthrough could start with a simple idea from YOU.

Use AI as your study buddy to make coding reviews easier and more effective! You can ask it to explain lessons step by step, quiz you on coding concepts, or even suggest practice problems that match your level. But remember, AI should be used properly, not as a shortcut. Think of it as a guide to help you understand, practice, and apply what you’ve learned so you can build stronger coding skills and create better projects on your own.

Coding has been around since the 1800s, when Ada Lovelace wrote the first algorithm for a machine. Just as coding has continuously evolved from punch cards to modern languages, AI is the next step in that journey. At MyCode, we see AI as part of this evolution; that’s why we encourage students to use it responsibly for learning and reviewing, instead of banning it. With the right approach, AI can make studying smarter and coding projects even better!

Programmers have been using Pseudocode and Flowcharts since the early days of computing in the 1940s–1950s to plan out their programs before writing actual code.

Flowcharts gave a visual way to see how a program would run, while pseudocode made it easier to explain logic in plain language. Both helped make coding clearer and more structured.

At MyCode, we teach students not just the basics, but an improved way of planning with modern tools, coding platforms, and real-world applications, helping them think like today’s innovators while building the strong foundations of yesterday’s pioneers.

Seymour Papert was more than just an educator; he was a visionary who believed children learn best when actively creating, exploring, and building. 💡

He co-created Logo in the late 1960s, with the first implementation developed around 1967 at MIT.

The first programming language designed for kids opened the door for young learners to understand complex ideas through play and experimentation. Papert’s influential book, “Mindstorms: Children, Computers, and Powerful Ideas,” was published in 1980, where he expanded on his ideas about how computers could revolutionize learning.

At MyCode, we carry his legacy forward by making coding fun, creative, and meaningful for kids, through hands-on projects and real-world problem solving. Let’s inspire the next generation of thinkers, builders, and innovators! 🚀

Precision is power! Spell it right, your code depends on it! One small spelling mistake can cause hours of confusion, especially for beginners.

At MyCode, we teach our students that attention to detail isn't optional; it's essential. Whether you're just starting or leveling up, mastering the basics like spelling sets you up for success!

This Women’s Month, we honor incredible Filipino women in STEM who continue to break barriers and inspire future generations! 🚀 💡

From the cosmos to code, from sustainable tech to AI, these women are shaping the future with their brilliance:

🔭 Dr. Reina Reyes – The “Filipino Einstein” who proved Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and now leads in data science.

📽️ Anne Aaron – The genius behind Netflix’s smooth streaming experience, optimizing video algorithms.

🔋 Aisa Mijeno – Innovator behind SALt lamps, providing sustainable lighting powered by saltwater.

📊 Erika Fille Legara – Data science trailblazer, shaping AI and analytics education in the Philippines.

🔬 Josette Biyo – The first Asian to have a planet named after her for excellence in science education.

Just like coding, their work transforms ideas into real-world impact, proving that innovation has no limits when women lead the way.

Tag a Filipina in STEM who inspires you!
