BEYOND GRATEFUL

On April 15, the UST Alumni Lay and Priests Association (ALPA) formally turned over a total of ₱500,000 in donations to the UST Central Seminary. These proceeds were raised from Project: Basil Valdez — A Concert for a Cause, held last January 28, 2026.

The donation was graciously received by the Acting Rector of UST Central Seminary, Fr. Clarence Marquez, OP. These proceeds are now intended to help fund various formation activities of the seminarians.

We are beyond grateful to our alumni whose unwavering support continues to sustain the mission of the Central Seminary, especially the project directors of this meaningful initiative:
Msgr. Gary Noel Formoso
Fr. Pio Rino Guaring
Atty. Simplicio Bermejo, Jr.
Atty. Theresiana Llenos
Mr. Emil Morales
Mr. Gabriel Bernabe, Jr.
Mr. Ray Anthony Bofill

More than the material support, their steadfast generosity stands as a living witness to gratitude and service—an inspiration for those within her halls to continue paying it forward and to become channels of God’s unending grace.

On April 13, the UST Central Seminary Community joined Bukluran Kanlungan in the solemn celebration of the feast of Saint Margaret of Castello, their beloved patron, held at the Central Seminary Chapel.

The Eucharistic Celebration was presided over by Rev. Fr. Vincent Louisse Ruaya, who led the community in prayer and reflection on a life marked by quiet suffering transformed into holiness.

Born with physical disabilities and abandoned at a young age, Saint Margaret of Castello became a witness to unwavering faith and interior joy. A Dominican tertiary, her life of hidden sacrifice and charity bore fruit in countless graces, with over 200 miracles attributed to her intercession. Her story remains a powerful testament that suffering, when united with Christ, becomes a path to purification and sanctity.

On behalf of Bukluran Kanlungan, heartfelt gratitude is extended to all who took part in this meaningful celebration, making it a true encounter of faith, hope, and love.

ᾄδοντες καὶ ψάλλοντες — singing and making melody in your hearts to the Lord. (Ephesians 5:19)

Forty years of voices lifted in prayer.
Forty years of hearts attuned to grace.
Forty years of music offered not merely to be heard — but to be lived.

As the University of Santo Tomas – Central Seminary Psalterion marks its 40th Anniversary Ruby Concert, we return to the very spirit that has shaped our song through the years: music born from the heart, offered to the Lord, and shared with the Church.

This is more than a concert.
It is a thanksgiving.
It is a remembrance.
It is a melody woven from generations of seminarians who have learned to pray in harmony.
