[ICYMI] It was a productive week for the RIHSD Director and Center Chiefs, who facilitated and attended exploratory meetings for potential research collaborations with various agencies, both locally and internationally. A reflection of never-ending and never-tiring commitment of our Institute to produce research that matters.
On 09 February 2026, the RIHSD facilitated an exploratory meeting with Naparat Kranrattanasuit of Mahidol University via Zoom. The meeting was hosted by Chief John Amiel Rivera (RIHSD-CPJIGS), Chief Celso Tan Jr. (RIHSD-CEBS), and Chief Werllie P. Bueno (RIHSD-CSSES). The meeting aimed to explore collaboration in research and extension programs between the two (2) universities.
On 10 February 2026, Chief Werllie P. Bueno, Chief Chloe Nicole D. Piamonte (RIHSD-CSIS), and Chief Diosdado P. Franco (RIHSD-CCDS) attended the Research Consortium on Childrenโs Rights regular meeting conducted by the Council for the Welfare of Children in Quezon City. The PUP-RIHSD is a member of the consortium and continues to be part in advancing research-based policy on childrenโs rights.
Also on 10 February 2026, the RIHSD-CPJIGS, led by Chief John Amiel Rivera, facilitated a coordination meeting with faculty researchers for the 2026 policy reviews. This initiative strengthens the Centerโs mandate to review and assess university policies aimed at building a more inclusive and sustainable community.
On 12 February 2026, an exploratory meeting with the Department of Migrant Workers was held. It was attended by Chief John Amiel Rivera, Chief Celso Tan Jr., Chief Mandy Felicia (RIHSD-CLIRS), and Chief Werllie P. Bueno, as well as Ms. Maui Oreiro and Mr. Mark Espina of the DMW-Institute for Advanced and Strategic Studies on Migration and Development (IASSMD). The meeting explored possible research and extension collaborations between the two agencies.
From collaboration talks with a Thai university to discussions with the Department of Migrant Workers, these consecutive meetings reflect RIHSDโs strengthened commitment for 2026 to produce research that matters, guided by Sintang Paaralanโs principle ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐๐ โ๐๐, ๐๐๐๐ ๐ ๐ ๐ต๐๐ฆ๐๐.
