Dr. Mina Ramirez,
Chair of the PhD Program, Applied Cosmic Anthropology and President Emerita of the Asian Social Institute tells the early beginnings of the ACA program and how it quietly grew and established a formidable cornerstone promoting the praxis of integrity of creation, justice and peace.

The Asian Social Institute’s (ASI) Applied Cosmic Anthropology (ACA) Doctorate Program, the only one of its kind in the Philippines and Asia, has officially launched its 30th Pearl Anniversary celebrations with a thanksgiving mass and a gathering of distinguished scholars, both students and alumni, faculty, and community members.
The event was graced by ASI President Prof. Felipe De Leon Jr., President Emerita Dr. Mina Ramirez, and esteemed ACA professors Dr. Dido Villasor, Prof. Leah Tolentino, and Prof. Serafin Talisayon. The celebration began with a solemn thanksgiving mass, followed by a sumptuous feast honoring the energy and spirit of volunteerism and the collective contributions of the ASI - ACA community.
To further bless this milestone, the event also featured the turnover of earnings from the past three seminars of the ASI Lecture Series, initiated by the PhD ACA students reinforcing the institution’s commitment to sustaining transformative education and community empowerment.
This kickoff event marks the beginning of a series of engaging celebrations and community gatherings dedicated to honoring ACA’s legacy and future. Stay tuned for more exciting events and activities as we continue to celebrate three decades of transformative education, cultural consciousness, and social transformation!
