International Plastic Free Day ๐ŸŒโ™ป๏ธ

Today, we are reminded of the urgent need to reduce plastic waste and protect our environment from pollution that harms our communities, oceans, and future generations. Every reusable bag, bottle, and sustainable choice we make contributes to a cleaner and healthier planet.

In line with its commitment to community engagement and environmental stewardship, the NSTP Office continues to encourage students and volunteers to practice responsible waste management and promote sustainable living within their communities. Through collective action and civic responsibility, we can create meaningful change for the environment and help build a more sustainable future for all.

This celebration also supports the achievement of:

Earth Day 2026 ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒฑ

Today, we celebrate Earth Dayโ€”a global reminder that caring for our planet is a shared responsibility. It calls on all of us to take meaningful action in protecting the environment, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable practices for future generations.

In line with this celebration, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) is currently implementing a NO VEHICLE DAY to all of its campuses across the country. This initiative encourages a cleaner, greener environment by reducing carbon emissions, promoting eco-friendly mobility, and raising awareness on the impact of our daily choices on the planet.

The NSTP Office continues to advocate for environmental stewardship and active citizenship, empowering students to take part in building sustainable and resilient communities.

The PUP National Service Training Program successfully convened the EmpowHER & EmpowerALL: Gender-Sensitive Family Planning Seminar on April 12, 2026. This significant educational initiative brought together 500 NSTP students to engage in a comprehensive discourse regarding Gender and Development (GAD), reproductive health, and social equality. ๐Ÿ’œ

The seminar commenced with an insightful session led by Mr. Joey T. Danting, Chief of NSTP CWTS, who discussed the essential fundamentals of GAD. This foundational knowledge was further expanded upon by our esteemed resource speaker, Ms. Tracy G. Labiran of the Family Planning Organization of the Philippines (FPOP), who shared invaluable expertise on reproductive health and the practical application of gender-sensitive choices.

This undertaking remains steadfastly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through these collaborative efforts, we continue to fulfill our mission of developing socially responsible citizens equipped to lead with compassion, awareness, and a deep understanding of community welfare and global development standards.

โœŠ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฝ

The NSTP Office continues to promote environmental responsibility by encouraging sustainable practices, waste reduction, and active community participation. Through conscious choices and collective action, we can minimize waste and create a cleaner, healthier environment for all.

๐Ÿซก๐Ÿซ‚
