Lakbay Dunong, which translates directly to "Journey of Knowledge," is an outbound mobility program organized for 2027 by the University of the Philippines Manila Office of International and Local Linkages, with the support of the UP System Office of International Linkages. It is designed to provide UP Manila undergraduate students with international academic opportunities, cross-cultural exposure, and global learning experiences in a foreign university.

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆:

-​Enrolled in UP at the time of application
-​Must be a Sophomore/Junior standing at the time of application
-​Not a previous exchange student
-​Must show strong motivation and interest to experience higher education and cultural diversity
-​If a senior, must have a remaining of at least 36 units (exclusive of current semester) for mobility in the second/spring semester

The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila, the Provincial Government of Samar, and Samar State University (SSU) formalized a partnership to strengthen healthcare through allied health workforce development, research, and public service initiatives.

A Memorandum of Understanding between UP Manila’s College of Allied Medical Professions, the Provincial Government of Samar, and SSU establishes a broader collaborative framework to enhance healthcare education, research, and community service across the province. This initiative focuses on joint research, academic program development, capacity-building, student placements, and collaborative online teaching-learning without disrupting existing academic operations.

​An SLAS Bracket Certification is required for undergraduate students applying for MOVE-UP Financial Assistance, as it determines student entitlements. Applicants are advised to secure their SLAS certification from the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) as part of the official application requirements.

​Please be informed that the initial main application period for Academic Year 2026–2027 has already passed. The schedule for the release of application results and the submission of appeals is as follows:

-​Release of Application Results: August 31 – September 4, 2026
-Submission of Appeals Period: September 7 – September 18, 2026

Fresh from launching its Standard Treatment Guidelines for Primary Healthcare during its 11th National Health Day in July, Timor-Leste’s leaders, led by Ambassador Marciano Octavio Garcia da Silva and Dr. Florindo Pinto Gonzaga, director of Policy, Planning, Cooperation and Development, convened with academic leaders of the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila and discussed potential cooperation to strengthen the island country’s healthcare workforce through professional and specialized training in the Philippines.

The meeting sought to identify opportunities for Timorese health professionals to undertake medical specialty, postgraduate, advanced nursing, residency, and fellowship opportunities, and other health professional training at UP Manila and Philippine General Hospital.

Nakatutok ang pagdiriwang ngayong taon sa temang “Wikang Filipino at AI: Kasangkapan sa Pananaliksik at Tulay sa Yaman ng Impormasyon,” na naglalayong suriin ang mahalagang papel ng pambansang wika sa panahon ng AI at sa makabagong pananaliksik.

𝗨𝗣 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝝖𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗠𝗖𝗪 𝗬𝝾𝘂𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝝾𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 2026

Mr. Mar Alvin A. Rilles, a fourth-year BS Public Health student from the UP Manila College of Public Health, was selected for the Miracle Corners of the World (MCW) Global Young Leaders Fellowship 2026. Out of 3,400 global applicants, he was among the 50 fellows chosen, standing out as one of the Top 3 mentees from Southeast Asia during the 10-day training at New York University and Champlain College in the United States.

Representing the Philippines, Mr. Rilles engaged in cross-cultural exchanges focused on vision-building, strategic planning, and collaborative leadership. He emphasized that effective leadership mirrors public health—requiring multi-sectoral teamwork to drive lasting community impact. From August 2026 to July 2027, he will implementcommunity-based public health initiatives in the Philippines under international mentorship.
