I grew up taught that intimacy was one narrow thing.
But even as a kid, I questioned that. I saw intimacy in all kinds of people, in every walk of life.
But when I moved to America, I saw how purity culture warped it into silence and shame.
I’m continuing this conversation now because I’ve realized how many people never had it, and when we do talk about it, they’re shocked to find out they weren’t alone.

After speaking with dozens of adults over the past couple of weeks, a clear pattern has emerged:
Most people believe they have a communication problem.
What they actually have is a regulation problem.
When the nervous system is overwhelmed, it shows up as:
• overthinking what to say
• shutting down in important conversations
• reacting instead of responding
• difficulty expressing needs clearly
• feeling disconnected even when they care deeply
Communication is not the root issue.
It’s the symptom.
Until the body feels safe, communication will continue to feel difficult.
This is what I’ve been unpacking in these conversations.

A lot of people assume what I do is “therapy.”
It is not.
Therapy is incredibly valuable, and there are wonderful therapists in Indiana doing that work. Most therapy focuses on diagnosing problems, processing past experiences, and helping people heal from pain or dysfunction.
The work I do lives in a different lane.
I teach the skills of connection.
Most adults were never taught things like:
• how to regulate emotions during conflict
• how to communicate clearly without escalating
• how to rebuild trust and safety
• how intimacy and desire actually work in long-term relationships
• how to bring playfulness back into connection
So when relationships start to feel distant or tense, people assume something is wrong with them or their partner.
Often, no one is broken.
They just never learned the tools.
My work focuses on practical frameworks and exercises that help people understand what is happening in their head, their heart, and sometimes their private parts when connection starts to break down.
In the Indianapolis area there are only a small handful of professionals specializing in sexuality and intimacy work, and even fewer who approach it through education, emotional regulation, and the science of play.
Which means a lot of people don’t realize this kind of support even exists.

You Can Want Change Without Wanting Chaos.
Some people delay transformation because they’re afraid of what it will cost them.
What if it’s overwhelming?
What if it brings everything to the surface? What if it makes things worse before they get better?
Here’s the truth: Change doesn’t have to be chaotic.
The most sustainable transformation is gentle. It stabilizes before it challenges. It soothes before it stretches. It builds capacity instead of breaking you open.
You don’t need to turn your life upside down to live it differently.

So… I did a thing...
I started launching my program. For real.
I’ve been quietly building, creating, researching, and pouring everything I’ve got into something that I believe can genuinely change lives.
But now that it’s time to actually put it out there?
Whew.
Vulnerability hits different when you're pressing “post.”
Honestly, it’s been more emotionally intense than I expected.
Putting yourself out there isn’t just strategy and content... it’s heart, courage, and a whole lot of deep breaths.
