As the academic year ends, Chief Magistrate Lozano and members of the High Court steps down from their position, the University of the East Political Science Society's esteemed High Court undergoes a changing of the guard. After the deliberation of the Judicial and Bar Council and the approval of the Commission on Appointments, 𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐄𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐑. 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨 takes the stewardship of the judiciary as the new Chief Magistrate.

As the then Senior Associate Magistrate whose brilliant career encapsulates the virtues of integrity, independence, and obedience to the rule of law, Mr. Donato inherits the responsibility as the head of the High Court. His ascendance heralds a new era for the High Court - one poised to uphold the inviolable tenets upon which our system of democratic governance rests.

Joining the new Chief Magistrate is 𝐈𝐯𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐋. 𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐲, who assumes the pivotal role of Attorney General from Mr. Renzo Aeriel V. Sapuyot, the outgoing Attorney General who now takes office as the new President of the UE Political Science Society. As the organization's chief lawyer and head prosecutor, Mr. Bacay will spearhead the Student Welfare and Assistance Council, upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of all the members of the Organization.

Joining the new Chief Magistrate in this judicial renaissance are:

As the Lozano Court legacy is forever etched into the Court's record, the baton now passes to the capable hands of Mr. Donato and his team. The Court's pursuit of truth and fairness endures unbroken, even as new visionary leadership ushers in a commitment to the sacred trust of the members of the Organization.

UE Yearend 2024 Tertiary-Graduate Baccalaureate Rites All Set

Attention, candidates for UE yearend tertiary and graduate commencement for school year 2024-2025!

Please be informed of your Baccalaureate Rites, both of which will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2024—prior to your commencement rites on Friday, June 21, 2024.

For graduating UE Caloocan College students, please be guided by the following details:

Venue: Multipurpose Hall, 5th Floor, Dr. Lucio C. Tan Building (a.k.a. MPH 3)
Assembly time: 7:30 a.m.
Program proper: 8:30 a.m.

For graduating UE Manila College and Graduate School students:

Venue: UE Theater, 5th floor, Dalupan Building*
Assembly time: 12 noon
Program proper: 1 p.m.

* The campus entrance for the UE Manila Baccalaureate Mass will be the main UE Theater entrance along C. M. Recto Avenue, to the right of the C&E Bookshop.

The prescribed attire for the Baccalaureate Mass is your UE uniform.

The program and tickets for the Commencement Rites will be distributed at your respective Dean's offices after the Rites. Each graduating student will receive two tickets, valid for two guests to the Commencement Rites.

The eligible voters are those who paid the membership fee on either semester. Every eligible voter can vote for the executive positions, while only the eligible, batchmates can vote for the Year Representatives position.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧,

Garnering 100% of all eligible voters, Mr. Sapuyot Renzo is the successor of incumbent Gwyneth Sucapco as the President of the UE-PSS.

With 99% of all eligible voters, Ms. Nazarene Barizo will replace Mr. Jaymes Mamorno as the Vice President of the UE-PSS.

The Secretary-General for the upcoming academic year is Ms. Angel Ace Vern Ilarina with 97% of eligible votes, replacing the incumbent Mr. Quintin Bagtas.

𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬,

Ms. Angelique Castro garnered 99%, and Mr. Franz Gabon got 100% votes in their batch.

Mr. Jose Zapanta got 100%, while Ms. Glecyl Khaite Abelon obtained 99% votes in their batch.

Both Mr. Carlo Alegado and Mr. Lance Villanueva got 100% votes in their batch.

A more comprehensive electoral update regarding the recent elections will be posted soon. For now, the COMELEC congratulates and looks forward to the performance of these newly elected officers. We hope that they will stay true to their words and that they will be the next leaders to be the best among all those who served the UE - Political Science Society.

The ballot for year representatives is given to the incumbent year representatives per batch, while the ballot for the executive positions is sent to the AB Political Science GC, and your respective GCs by the sitting year representatives. Please use your UE email to access the ballots.

Please be reminded that today is the ban day for election campaign as it is the day preceding the election. The election shall be held tomorrow 28th of May, from 8 AM - 6 PM, thru GFORMS.

Any election campaign today will be subject to penalties, as discussed in the Briefing of the Election Code with the candidates.

The aspiring successor of President Gwyneth Sucapco, Renzo Sapuyot, answered a question about his capability as a leader.

Mr. Sapuyot proved that he is willing to improve and do what it takes to be, at least, on par with the current president, if not greater than her.

The main question here is, do the PolScie warriors believe in him as the possible next leader of the organization?

The running Vice President of the organization cleared the possible gap about one of their GPOA, the POLSCI ACADEMIC ARCHIVES: DATABASE OF NOTES AND READINGS.

Ms.Barizo stated that they will meticulously manage such a project and that there will be no personal work involved in the project to avoid the free-riding of members of the organization to those who are contributing to the project.

The aspiring Secretary-General answered the question about funding and the membership issue as the sitting treasurer of the current administration.

Ms. Ilarina showed that she properly did her job and that she has even been lenient and understanding with the PolScie warriors as these issues concern a sensitive topic - money.

The question is whether she will continue with the character she presented during her term as a treasurer or if she will change when she wins the Secretary General position in the next administration.
