BREAKING: SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLIDAY ON JANUARY 09, 2024
January 9, 2024, has been declared a special non-working day in the City of Manila by Proclamation No. 434 issued by the Office of the President on this day, January 4, 2024. This is in recognition of the Feast of the Black Nazarene.
The Feast of the Black Nazarene is a major religious and cultural event celebrated in the Philippines every year on January 9. Millions of devotees participate in the procession of the centuries-old statue of the Black Nazarene from Quiapo Church to Rizal Park.
The Manila City government has declared January 9 a special non-working day to give people the opportunity to participate in the festivities. All government offices, schools, and businesses in the city will be closed on the day of the celebration.
