Pacific Forum has released an article titled "Pax Silica for Pax Filipina: Allied Scale in Action'", written by Department of International Studies Lecturer Florence Principe-Gamboa. The piece explores the strategic growth of the Philippines in technology as it positions itself within critical semiconductor supply chains and leverages this as a means to strengthen its defense and economic security.
Florence Principe-Gamboa is the Managing Editor and Coordinator of FATCS Asia, a Verve Research Fellow, and a Philippine Technology Policy Fellow at Pacific Forum.

The FEU Department of International Studies and the Australian National University (ANU) Philippines Institute invite you to a talk titled “Understanding Foreign Policy Actions: A Public Lecture” by Benjamin Day, PhD, on 28 May 2026, Thursday, from 1:00–3:00 PM at the University Conference Center (UCC), Arts Building. The lecture will focus on key themes in foreign policy analysis, including the role of leadership, domestic political factors, and international pressures in shaping a country’s foreign policy behavior.

FEU to Assume UAAP Hosting Duties at Season 88 Closing Ceremony
Far Eastern University (FEU) will formally assume hosting duties for the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) from the University of Santo Tomas (UST) during the Closing Ceremony, set to take place later today at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
Scheduled at 6:00 p.m., the full gala event will be highlighted by the announcement of the UAAP Athletes of the Year across both collegiate and high school divisions, covering individual and team sports. The awardees will be selected from among the Most Valuable Players of the league’s 66 regular events in Season 88.
The evening will also recognize athlete-scholars who successfully balanced high-level competition with academic achievement, as well as student-athletes who represented the UAAP in international tournaments during the 2025–2026 academic year.
Leading the turnover, FEU President Juan Miguel Montinola will officially receive the UAAP flag and unveil the theme for . The FEU Dance Company will perform in G minor performance in sync with the orchestra theme of UST and sneak preview of the what’s to come in the future.
The ceremony will be broadcast on One Sports and streamed live via the Pilipinas LIVE app.

BA International Studies students participated in the 11th Philippine Korean Studies Symposium themed, “Envisioning Korean Studies in the Philippines through an Inter-Asian Perspective,” held on 8–9 May 2026 at Pilar Herrera Hall, University of the Philippines Diliman.
Organized by the UP Korea Research Center, the symposium gathered distinguished scholars, researchers, policymakers, and representatives from various academic and research institutions to advance discussions on Korean Studies and regional cooperation. South Korean Ambassador to the Philippines, Lee Sang-hwa, delivered the congratulatory message, underscoring the importance of strengthening Korea–Philippines academic and cultural relations.
The UP Korea Research Center remains a valued partner of the FEU Department of International Studies through collaborative research initiatives, academic conferences, faculty and student mobility programs, and endeavors that promote deeper Korea–Philippines engagement and mutual understanding.
