NEW BLOOD IN THE RED-AND-WHITE 🔴⚪️

Former FEU-D Baby Tamaraws standout Dexter Santos has officially committed to the UE Men’s Basketball Team.

The 6'5" forward was one of the key contributors to the Baby Tamaraws’ championship run in the UAAP Season 88.

In an exclusive interview with the DAWN, Santos shared that he views his move to UE as a fresh start.

“I think wala naman pressure sa akin kasi tapos na ‘yung pagiging champion namin sa FEU at ibang story na ulit ‘yung mangyayari sa akin ngayon sa parating na journey ko sa UE,” he expressed.

He is set to be eligible for five playing years, starting UAAP Season 89.

“My goal this coming UAAP Season 89 is maiangat namin unti-unti ‘yung UE team hanggang sa mag-Final Four, and gagawin ko lang ‘yung best ko para makatulong sa UE,” he concluded.

Santos is under the D’ Generals Basketball Program, a sponsor of the UE Men’s and High School Boys’ Basketball Teams.

UE CCSS IT Students and CAS IS Students joins the ASEAN AI HACKATHON 2026

Students from the University of the East take part in ASEAN AI Hackathon 2026, organized by Passage to ASEAN (P2A) and guided by the theme “AI for a Resilient ASEAN: Innovation,
Sustainability, and Humanity.”

The team, DiplomaTech, will be competing under the AI for Education (Future Learning) track. The name “DiplomaTech” symbolizes the fusion of diplomacy from the International Studies students and the technological skills of the Information Technology students. Through this collaboration between the College of Computer Studies and Systems and the College of Arts and Sciences, the team aims to support a resilient and inclusive ASEAN by leveraging AI for accessible education.

Guided by their faculty mentors, Prof. Mary Emily Geraldine C. Perez and Prof. Edmon L. Torres, the team focuses on developing practical and accessible learning tools that help ensure greater inclusion as technology continues to advance.
