The PUP Center for Labor and Industrial Relations Studies (CLIRS) under the Research Institute for Human and Social Development (RIHSD) will be holding a Research Capability Building Activity-Advocacy Project entitled BASIC LABOR ORIENTATION FOR GRADUATING STUDENTS: B.L.O.G.S. 2022 SESSION 1 this coming May 12, 2022 (THURSDAY), from 1:30-4:30 via Zoom + Facebook Live. This seminar on labor provides knowledge and awareness especially to PUP graduating students on their rights and privileges as members of the workforce, both in public and private sectors. BLOGS is an institutional program started by the then Institute for Labor and Industrial Relations (ILIR).
CLIRS has invited Atty. REMIGIO D. SALADERO JR. to speak about the following matters: Conditions of Employment (Book III of Labor Code), Labor Organization (Book V of Labor Code), and Post Employment (On Termination and Retirement, Book VI of Labor Code).
Attorney Saladero obtained his Master of Industrial Relations from the University of the Philippines Diliman in October 1989; his Master of Public Administration also from UP Diliman in March 1995; his law degree from San Beda College in March 1983; and his A.B. in Political Science (Cum Laude) from the Mindanao State University in March 1979. He was among the top 20 examinees in the 1984 Bar Examinations. Attorney Saladero is the founding partner of the Pro-Labor Legal Assistance Center (PLACE).
PUP faculty and employees, and the general public, who are intereseted to attend can join. This session can serve as a review on these important topics in the Labor Code.
