The Ateneo Research Institute of Science and Engineering (ARISE) serves as the focal point for the research programs and initiatives of the School of Science and Engineering (SOSE) Established in January of 2020, the Ateneo Research Institute of Science and Engineering (ARISE) is a center for world-class, innovative and socially relevant research initiatives of the School of Science and Engineering. It enhances the research capacity and networking capability of SOSE to transform Philippine society through the generation of knowledge and innovative technologies for national development. It seeks to advance scholarly activity primarily through the following: (a) To promote and facilitate trans-disciplinary research that cuts across various disciplines in the sciences, engineering, management, humanities, and social sciences; (b) To address societal problems through the development and application of innovative technologies; (c) To build the capacity of science scholars, research students and early career scholars to produce ground-breaking, transformational research in line with the university’s strategic educational and research mission; (d) To actively source funds to support strategic research areas and promising researchers; (e) To form and/or enhance research networking capability of the School of Science and Engineering through research collaborations and post-doctoral partnerships with both local and foreign institutions; and (f) To disseminate and/or apply the knowledge gained through research to benefit various sectors and/or contribute to policy-making. The Ateneo Research Institute of Science and Engineering (ARISE) currently focuses on, but is not limited to, the following general research areas in line with the SOSE and University research agenda: Environment, Health, Disaster Science and Mitigation, Science and Mathematics Education, and Current and Emerging Technologies.
