Dr. Loyola earned his PhD in Mathematics from the Ateneo de Manila University in 2016 and conducted joint research at Sophia University in Tokyo under the CHED PhD Sandwich Program. He currently serves as Associate Professor and Associate Chair for Graduate Programs at the Department of Mathematics. His research interests include Discrete Geometry, Mathematical Crystallography, and Technology in Mathematics.

As we brace for the effects of Typhoon Uwan ( ), the University is opening its doors to support members of the Ateneo community who may be affected by the severe weather.

The Ateneo Loyola Heights campus will remain open to employees, students, and their immediate families who may wish to park their vehicles on campus during the typhoon.

Please note that the University will not be liable for any loss or damage to vehicles parked within campus grounds.

For employees, students, and immediate family members who may need to evacuate their homes, the University dormitories will be available as temporary shelter.

We encourage everyone to stay alert, take necessary precautions, and continue monitoring official announcements.

[UHR Advisory]
In line with the directive of the Quezon City Local Government, special work arrangements are being extended to employees reporting to the Loyola Heights Campus on Monday, 10 Nov 2025, in support of our Higher Education students and faculty who will still be holding online classes:

1. Employees who cannot report onsite may work from home with permission from their supervisor; and

2. Employees whose work cannot be performed from home and are not able to report onsite may file for Emergency Leave (EL) with approval from their supervisor.

Employees in Basic Education shall follow the work arrangements provided by their respective School Heads (Principals and Headmaster), as stated in the Memo #20.1 on the Revised Guidelines on the Cancellation or Suspension of Classes at Ateneo de Manila University – Basic Education.

Employees from the School of Government, School of Medicine and Public Health, Law School, and Graduate School of Business shall follow the directions on work arrangements provided by their respective deans.

The University will make further announcements on work depending on changes in the weather situation in the coming days.

In compliance with the Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) directive amid expectations of severe weather from Typhoon , we are suspending face-to-face classes at all levels at the Loyola Heights campus on Monday, 10 November 2025.

To ensure continuity of learning:

Grade School will observe a Home Study Day.

Junior High School and Senior High School will shift to asynchronous online modality.

Higher Education classes on our campus will proceed fully online, while our other campuses (Pasig, Rockwell, Sta Rosa, Clark) will follow their respective LGU guidelines.

Your safety is our priority—please take care, stay home if necessary, and await further updates.
