[Announcement] Malacañang has suspended classes at all levels in Metro Manila and Calabarzon (Region IV-A) for Tuesday, 3 September 2024, due to inclement weather.

The University has also announced the suspension of onsite and online work in all Ateneo campuses for the same day.

[UHR Announcement] Onsite work across the University will be suspended starting at 10:00 AM today, Monday, 2 September 2024. Since operations at different offices/schools need to proceed, we reiterate today’s earlier announcement that special work arrangements are available to affected employees.

Quezon City has suspended classes at all levels in public and private schools today, Monday, 2 September 2024, due to Tropical Storm Enteng (Yagi).

Classes in Quezon City have been suspended due to Tropical Storm Enteng today, 2 September 2024. Special work arrangements are being extended to employees reporting at the Loyola Heights campus:

1. Employees who cannot report onsite may work from home with permission from their supervisor; and
2. Employees whose work cannot be performed from home may file for Emergency Leave (EL) with approval from their supervisor.

Employees from the School of Government, School of Medicine and Public Health, Law School, and Graduate School of Business shall follow the directions on work arrangements provided by their respective deans.

In light of the suspension of classes in Quezon City due to heavy rainfall on Wednesday, 28 August 2024, special work arrangements are extended to employees reporting to the Loyola Heights campus. The mode is work-from-home with the approval of their supervisor for those who cannot report onsite. Those whose work cannot be performed from home may file for Emergency Leave (EL) with permission from their supervisor. This will apply only to employees in the Loyola Heights campus.

The talk will focus on the use of museum specimens in phylogenetic and evolutionary studies. The talk will delve into natural history collections and how they can be used as "biobanks" in a phylogenomic perspective to answer several evolutionary questions. Dr Nattier will also share about his journey as a biodiversity researcher and will present research and career opportunities to biodiversity enthusiasts.

The talk is open to the public.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Together with the team, develop and fine tune experimental protocols for protein expression of the IPRDC key enzymes
- Prepare and maintain the stock culture of E. coli strains
- Conduct laboratory experiments/analyses as required by the project within the prescribed timeline
- Assist in project-related administrative requirements
- Coordinate with and assist the Chemical/Fermenter Engineer in activities related to the assessment of the 50-L PIPAC bioreactor
- Assist in technical and administrative progress reports
- Assist in the preparation of scientific manuscripts for publication
- Other tasks and assignments related to the program/project may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

- Degree holder in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biology major in Microbiology or Molecular Biology, Bioprocessing, Chemical Engineering, or Biotechnology.
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferable but not required.
- Laboratory safety training is preferable but not required
