The viral Facebook post of an Education graduate who graduated as cm laude struck a chord with many, as she shared the pressure she felt from her family and relatives.

RELATIVES/FAMILY PRESSURE IS WORST.

Akala ko noon maprepresure lang ako sa pag-aaral at paano ako makakatapos. Kung paano ko masusubmit lahat ng paperworks and projects on time kasabay ng iba pang activities sa school. At iniisip ko rin makakapasa ba ako every quarter nung elem at highschool. Pagdating ng college Pressure pa rin ang nararamdaman ko. Naranasan ko pagsabayin ang pag-aaral sa lahat ng mga problema na kinaharap ko.

Makakatapos kaya ako? Yan ang tanong ko palagi sa sarili ko.

Akala ko kapag nakatapos na ako ng pag aaral matatapos na rin ang PRESSURE na palagi bumabagabag sakin noon. Pero mali pala ako.

I graduated as Cum Laude. Pero walang trabaho ang bumukas para sakin. Nag intay ako ng ilang buwan at nagkaron ako ng trabaho na kaiba sa profession ko, pero natutustusan naman Lahat ng kailangan ko at nakakapagbigay rin ako sa mga magulang ko. Akala ko okay na. Pero hindi pa rin pala.

"Nag exam ka na ba? Nagtuturo ka na? San ka nag tatrabaho? Yan ang mga tanong na palagi kong naririnig.

"Hindi pa ho ako nakuha ng exam at hindi pa rin po ako nagtuturo." Ayan ang palagi kong sagot.

Lalo akong na pressure ng nangyare ito.

:Nagtuturo ka na ba? Nag board exam ka na?
:Ah hindi pa po.

:bakit dapat magturo ka, sayang pinagaralan mo. Di ba Cum Laude ka.
:wala pa po akong plano na mag turo po e, sig**o po pag nakapag exam na po ako

:Sayang pinagaralan mo kung hindi ka mag tuturo.

:sabi ni..... kapag hindi ka daw nakakuha ng trabaho lalo na at cm laude ka uulit ka ulit ng units. Pwede ka naman mag trabaho kahit wala kang lisensya e.

(And madami pa sila sinabi, which makes me feel embarrassed and humiliated, hanggang sa umalis na lang ako.)

Ito yung isang dahilan kung bakit ayaw ko kumuha ng board exam last march 2024. I don't want to feel humiliated, lalo na at nakatapos ako ng may daladala sa pangalangan ko. Paano kung hindi ako makapasa sa first take ko? Ano na lang sasabihin nila. Cum Laude pero hindi pumasa sa first take. Ito ikinakatakot ko. Cause I don't see myself na matalino. Isa lamang po akong normal na estudyante noon.

May mga plano rin naman ako para sa sarili ko. Hindi nyo naman po kailangan paulit ulitin sakin. Noon palang pinagdududahan nyo na ako kung makakatapos ba ako o hindi (kahit hindi nyo sabihin alam ko at kita ko sa mga bawat pananalita nyo). Hindi nyo alam kung anong kabigat na pressure ang dinadala ko ngayon. Napakahirap para sakin na patunayan na tama ba na naging cm laude ako. Lalo na sa kurso na hindi ko naman talaga porte.

Lalo na humirap sakin ngayon kung dapat pa ba akong mag board o hindi na. Now, I'm doubting myself AGAIN and I'm asking myself. Tama ba tong kinuha ko. (Which makes my mental health unhealthy.)

Yung trabaho na meron po ako ngayon, sobra sobra na po ang pasasalamat ko kase meron po ako nito. Hindi nyo po alam na napakalaking tulong na sakin at sa pamilya ko ang trabaho na meron ako.

I have my own decisions. Hindi nyo po ako kailangang diktahan sa bawat gagawin ko. Darating din po ako dun, hindi lang po sa ngayon.
