Transforming Excellence Into Purpose This was also one of the offshoots of the provision of the Local Government Code. In 2006, General Ricardo Papa Sr.

Motivated by the urgency of the need to serve the youth of a burgeoning Taguig City, the Local Government Administration came up with Ordinance No. 29 series 2004 "An Ordinance Establishing the Pamantasan ng Taguig and Appropriate Funds Thereof." Pamantasan ng Taguig was renamed Taguig City University pursuant to City Ordinance No. 13, series of 2009. Building TCU was not laid on a golden platter.

The Taguig City University (TCU) Board of Regents convened today to discuss timely educational concerns and necessary steps in further elevating the standards of our local university and its graduates.

As a locally-funded university, it is important to ensure the quality of teaching, facilities conducive for learning, and enough opportunities for our graduates once they leave the doors of our university.

We thank President Dr. Raymundo Arcega, Association of Local Universities and College (ALCU) Representative Dr. Sheila I. Villanueva, and all the board members for pouring their time and dedication into ensuring that TCU continues to uphold and meet national standards of excellence in higher education.
