International Scientific Conference in Nursing 2023

“Some very passive teaching strategies today are still being used by some programs; however, activities need to be active, internet-driven, and digital,” said Professor Minerva Salinas Guttman while tackling the immense need for educators to adapt to modern learning tools that will help students at present grasp nursing education better.

This was during a plenary session in the International Scientific Conference in Nursing 2023 held today at Rizal Park Hotel, Manila.

The ISCN 2023 is conducted in line with the 75th Founding Anniversary Celebration this week, April 11-14, 2023.

Mr. Lluis Vinyals Torres, World Health Organization WPRO coordinator for Health Policy and Services Design, tackled strategies on how to support nurses in their roles towards Universal Health Care (UHC) during his keynote speech this morning.

In one of his points, he shared how the training for nurses in the Philippines is being looked up in foreign countries. He emphasized that in order to strengthen this, the inclusion of nurses in the conduct of dialogues, decision-making processes, and policy implementations must be further strengthened.

Today marks the second day of the 75th Founding Anniversary Celebration of the UP Manila College of Nursing (UPCN) through the conduct of INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE IN NURSING 2023 held at the Rizal Park Hotel, Manila.

UPCN Dean Shiela Bonito, during her opening remarks, said that this international scientific conference today "provides an excellent opportunity for us to reflect on the future of nursing education, research, and practice."
