Anthurium jenmanii and Anthurium bonplandii
(Anthurium sect. Pachyneurium)
Legend: Anthurium jenmanii (a)
Anthurium bonplandii (b)
Anthurium bonplandii produce thick, rounder, and red leaf while Anthurium jenmanii is more elongated and has green leaf.
According to Dr. Croat, "One principal reason collectors in Indonesia were seeking what they thought to be "Anthurium jenmanii" was they believed the species produced a juvenile bright burgundy to red leaf. Anthurium jenmanii does not produce a red leaf according to botanical experts including aroid botanist Dr. Croat."
Anthurium bonplandii was described to science by George Bunting in 1975 from a specimen observed in the Amazon region of Venezuela near Río Orinoco.
Anthurium jenmanii is also found in South America's Guiana Shield which includes French Guiana, Suriname, Guyana, Venezuela and the extreme northern portion of the Amazon basin in Brazil's Amazonas State.
The mislabeled of these plants are really have gone through the internet and many are confused between two.
Take note: ✔️
Both of these plants thrive really in direct to indirect light, low humidity and can tolerate a little bit and longer of dryness than other species under Pachyneurium.
