What begins with a cacao tree can become a story of culture, craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and Filipino excellence.

Our Grade 11 Global Business (GloBus) students experienced this firsthand through the Kakaw Discovery Walk at Casa de Cacao, a venue owned by distinguished Filipino entrepreneur Ms. Raquel Toquero-Choa, widely recognized as the “Chocolate Queen” of Cebu.

Through storytelling, hands-on discovery, and chocolate tasting, students saw how a local tradition can become a meaningful pathway for business, innovation, and global possibilities.

Because learning for the world begins by discovering the richness of what is uniquely ours.

At Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu Senior High School, learning is not confined to four walls. 𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗕𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 | 𝗙𝗿. 𝗜𝗿𝗺𝗼 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝘀 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘇𝗮, 𝗦𝗝’𝘀 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗼𝘄𝘀

A vocation is shaped by many moments of discernment, grace, and faithful response. In his Final Vows, Fr. Irmo Francis Valeza, SJ, gave once more his wholehearted yes to Christ and to a life of service in the Jesuit mission.

This celebration was made even more meaningful by the presence of the wider Jesuit community, whose prayer, friendship, and accompaniment have been part of Fr. Irmo’s journey. We extend our gratitude to Fr. Xavier Olin, SJ, Father Provincial, who presided over the Eucharistic celebration and witnessed this significant milestone in Fr. Irmo’s Jesuit vocation.

We are equally grateful to Fr. Irmo’s family, whose love and presence remind us that every vocation is nurtured by a community of people who believe, pray, and journey alongside one another. We also give thanks to the members of the communities he has served throughout the years, many of whom came together to celebrate with him and share in the joy of this special occasion.

To the Jesuit community, Fr. Irmo’s family and friends, the communities he has served, and the entire SHS-AdC community who gathered in prayer and celebration, thank you for being part of this beautiful chapter in his journey.

May Fr. Irmo’s faithful yes continue to inspire us to live lives of love, service, and generous commitment.

𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗣 | 𝗔 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲

For Christian Antonio L. De Jesus IV, a Grant-in-Aid Scholarship was more than financial assistance. It was a chance to dream, grow, and discover his purpose.

From a scholar at Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu to a Magna Cum Laude graduate in Computer Science at the University of San Carlos, Christian’s journey is a testament to what can happen when opportunity meets hard work, discipline, and a desire to serve others.

Reflecting on his journey, he shares:

“Looking back, I realized that the Grant-in-Aid Scholarship gave me far more than financial assistance. It gave me confidence, direction, and opportunities that shaped who I am today, and I hope to pay that kindness forward to others.”

His story reminds us that a scholarship is never just a gift. It is an investment in a young person’s potential and a ripple of hope that can reach far beyond the classroom.

𝗠𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗥𝗜𝗔𝗟 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆

Today, we honor the Blessed Virgin Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth. This is a title that reveals not power or prestige, but a life beautifully rooted in humility, obedience, and service.

In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us: “The greatest among you must be your servant.” Mary shows us what this greatness looks like. She welcomed God’s will with a humble heart, faithfully accompanied her Son, and remained steadfast in love and service.

May Mary, our Queen and Mother, teach us to seek not places of honor, but opportunities to serve; not recognition, but faithfulness; and not our own glory, but the glory of God.

Mary, Queen of Heaven and Earth, pray for us! 🙏

On this Ninoy Aquino Day, we honor the life, courage, and sacrifice of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., whose love for country and unwavering commitment to democracy continue to inspire generations of Filipinos.

His famous words, “The Filipino is worth dying for,” remain a powerful testament to his deep love for our nation and its people. May these words remind us that patriotism is not only about remembering those who sacrificed for our freedom, but also about choosing to serve, speak for what is right, and work for the common good.

LET US PRAY | ORATIO IMPERATA
For the Protection of Our Schools and Children

Almighty and loving Father, You are our refuge and strength, our help in times of fear and distress.

We come before You with troubled hearts because of the violence and shootings that have brought fear to our schools, families, and communities.

Lord, protect our children and young people. Keep them safe wherever they study, play, and gather. Grant wisdom and vigilance to parents, teachers, school personnel, and all entrusted with their care.

Comfort those who have been wounded and traumatized, and console families and communities living in grief and fear.

Touch those who carry anger, hatred, loneliness, or thoughts of harming themselves or others. Send them people who will listen and help, and lead them toward healing, peace, and hope.

Grant wisdom and courage to our government officials, law-enforcement agencies, school authorities, and Church leaders. Help us recognize warning signs, address the causes of violence,
protect the vulnerable, and never remain indifferent.

Make our homes places of love and prayer, our schools places of safety and formation, and our communities places where every life is valued and protected.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, watch over us.
Señor Santo Niño, protect the children of Cebu and keep them close to Your loving heart.
