Joshua Jennings, a BSTM student at the University of Cebu Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue under the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management, is now a cabin crew member for one of the well-known airlines in the aviation industry, Cebu Pacific Air. He reflects on how the institution shaped him from a student into an individual who is polished, prepared, and grounded for industry demands.

Q: How did your experience as a CHTM tourism student help shape your journey to becoming part of Cebu Pacific, and what advice would you give to aspiring students who dream of working in the aviation industry?

“I guess part of being a student was having fresh ideas and undergoing disciplinary grooming. Since I’ve always been assertive and vocal with my thoughts, perhaps it helped guarantee my chances. More importantly, it’s very important to know how to carry and present yourself, whether in front of or behind the camera. There are people observing you during the interview, and the best thing you can do is be self-assured. This helps you create a strong impression. Speak what you believe in and be vocal about your true self. Don’t hold back—no matter the questions, be confident and stay firm.” — Joshua Jennings

The UCLM CHTM Hospitality Management and Seacast Acquaintance Party 2026 turned the Waterfront Hotel and Casino into a high-energy arena of Sports and Wellness! From the very first beat, the room was electric with non-stop singing, powerful year-level yells, and high-octane dance performances that showcased our department's incredible talent. A standout moment that had everyone cheering was the comical skit from our dear faculty members, proving that our mentors are just as legendary on stage as they are in the classroom.

The heartbeat of this event was the collaborative spirit of our Dean and Faculty, the tireless SHTP Officers, and the expert planning of the MICE Students. Their dedication behind the scenes ensured that every neon light and performance flowed perfectly, solidifying the legacy of this year’s GLOWCHELLA.

The glow of tonight was unforgettable—a true testament to the strength and unity of our department as we move forward together.
