Flashback Friday 🕰️
Every Sunday, from the 90s into the early 2000s, “Anak Gabay Mo” would go on air, hosted by Don Bosco Mandaluyong’s own Mrs. Gloria Flores. While families were preparing for Mass or finishing breakfast, her voice would fill homes with calm conviction and guidance.
It wasn’t entertainment. It was formation.
And often joining her in that modest radio booth were Batch 2001’s Darwin Moya and Julz Casalan. Still students then, yet already stepping into conversations bigger than themselves. Imagine being that young and speaking on live radio about real social issues. No edits. No retakes. Just heart and honesty.
Before podcasts were cool.
Before “guestings” became content.
Before social media metrics.
Just a teacher mentoring her students.
Just Bosconians using their voices.
Just Sundays dedicated to guiding the youth.
Legacy doesn’t always stand on a stage.
Sometimes, it airs quietly every Sunday morning.
🌱 Mrs. Flores has since gone home to the Lord, but her voice still echoes in the lives she shaped. Her Sundays were not just broadcasts, they were seeds.
Special thanks, too to Kip Oebanda for founding this program.
